SpicyIP TV:The Summer School Edn Ep12 Dr Binay Panda, Prashant Reddy on patenting of micro-organisms

In this episode (12), Yogesh Byadwal speaks to Dr Binay Panda and Prashant Reddy about the Feb 2025 Delhi High Court decision in UC Regents vs The Controller of Patents, a very interesting case that could have repercussions for the biotech industry at large. In particular, they discuss questions raised ( or left open) by the case around patentability vis-a-vis Section 3(c) and Section 3(j) of the Patents Act. As well as questions on the disclosure, and deposit requirement as per Section 10 of the Patents Act. (Note: this episode was recorded on June 2025 as is current as of then. It's not clear if there has been any update since then, and watchers are advised to cross check instead of relying on this as the current position). Prashant Reddy had also earlier written on this case here: https://spicyip.com/2025/02/delhi-hig...
