Description

St. Peter’s Lutheran | A Big Summer Sermon Series | May 31, 2026 | Pastor Tim Carter | David and Goliath is the ultimate underdog story. Israel saw an unbeatable giant, but David saw a God who keeps His promises. The story reminds us that God fights for His people, and victory comes not by our might but by God’s. What looked like an insurmountable foe, David conquered with a sling, a stone, and confident faith. In the same way, sin and death were conquered through Jesus’ death and resurrection.

Sermon | What About That | Between Life and Death | 4

St. Peter’s Lutheran | What About That | May 3, 2026 | Pastor Adam Rodriguez | Death is the one reality our culture tries hardest to avoid. We sanitize it, delay it, and try to control it when it draws near. But eventually, it finds us sitting in hospital rooms, holding hands, asking questions we can’t ignore. In these moments, we are faced not only with the reality of death, but with how to care well in the face of it, not simply prolonging days at all costs, but surrounding one another with presence, compassion, and love. Scripture teaches us not how to control death, but how to approach death: with courage, wisdom, and trust. knowing that even here, the Lord is present, and He is the only one that can control death.
