About Streets of Bordeaux

Bordeaux, France. Summer 2024. I roam cobblestone streets, recorder in hand as I capture the sounds of the city and share the stories hidden within its homes, protests, and Olympic Games-hosting stadium. Grab your headphones, close your eyes, and listen to the streets of Bordeaux as I analyze the importance of the summer's political turmoil to France's sociopolitical state and the Olympics as a means of recruiting investment. This is a bilingual podcast with English narration and is a part of my senior thesis for the UNC Hussman School of Journalism and Media. Find the recording scripts and bibliographies for both episodes within the written thesis that discusses the art of portraiture as a form of audio journalism: "Streets of Bordeaux: A Podcast About Portraiture and the Politicization of Identity."
