Description

d4vd case — the preliminary hearing revealed prosecutors' full digital timeline for the first time: chainsaws, a cadaver bag, laundry bags, a shovel, an inflatable pool, and a burn cage allegedly ordered under aliases but paid for with the defendant's own accounts and shipped to his own address. The digital paper trail is extensive. But the defense established a fact that prosecutors have not explained: all three chainsaws came back negative for blood. No DNA testing was ordered. The prosecution calls these tools central to the alleged cover-up. The defense says the prosecution's own lab work contradicts that claim.Court testimony also covered matching tattoos between the defendant and Celeste Rivas Hernandez, prosecutors' allegation that two fingers bearing his name tattoo were removed from her body and never found, and financial earnings exceeding ten million dollars — with the defense establishing that his mother and financial manager controlled virtually all spending.Eric Faddis, defense attorney and former prosecutor, examines whether the defense is building a real foundation for trial or just scoring preliminary hearing points — and what three special circumstances look like when the prosecution's physical evidence has gaps. d4vd's Route Led Straight To WHAT On A Remote Highway?!

Day 2 of d4vd's preliminary hearing opened the financial books and then followed a trail ninety-five miles into the mountains. Prosecutors called two financial witnesses who testified Burke earned above $10 million from Interscope and brand deals between 2022 and 2025 — establishing how much he allegedly stood to lose if Celeste Rivas Hernandez exposed their relationship. Then the questioning swerved. A money manager admitted knowing Celeste's first name. The prosecutor pressed him on Burke taking her to London and to nightclubs with fraudulent identification. The defense objected and the judge cut it off. A CHP officer then testified that a Caltrans worker found Celeste's passport card in tall grass along State Route 154 in Santa Barbara County. Prosecutors allege location data shows Burke drove to that spot twice after the alleged killing. An LAPD criminologist described the Tesla at the tow yard — dust, insects, decomposition, and air fresheners stuffed throughout the vehicle. The hearing continues. D4VD Used Postmates To Order WHAT After Celeste Was Killed?!

The first day of David Anthony Burke's preliminary hearing put evidence that had been under seal into a public courtroom for the first time. LAPD Detective Joshua Byers testified about a sequence of purchases prosecutors allege Burke made under fake names in the weeks and months after the alleged death of Celeste Rivas Hernandez. Every item was allegedly paid for with his own financial accounts and shipped to his own address. Prosecutors presented body camera footage from a February 2024 encounter where a sheriff's deputy informed Burke that Celeste — whose family had filed a missing persons report — was thirteen years old. According to the footage, Burke claimed he had met her once and that she said she was eighteen. Prosecutors say the relationship was already well established by that date. Burke's former financial director took the stand and put numbers to the career prosecutors allege Burke was protecting: more than ten million dollars in gross income between 2023 and 2025. The same witness described a pivot to encrypted communications within Burke's team after the body was discovered, discussions about transferring property titles, and a retainer arrangement with Burke's mother that continues to this day. The defense challenged how key evidence was preserved and processed, securing testimony that three chainsaws recovered from the home tested negative for blood and that the cadaver bag was not fully retained. The hearing resumes with additional prosecution witnesses expected. episode What D4VD's Deputies Actually Missed That Day artwork

What D4VD's Deputies Actually Missed That Day

The D4VD case starts with a welfare check that got everything right except the one thing that mattered, and it ends with a first-degree murder charge. Tony Brueski lays out the complete timeline of what happened to Celeste Rivas Hernandez, from her first missing person report to the arrest.  Celeste disappeared from Lake Elsinore three times in early 2024. Riverside County deputies traced her phone records to musician David Burke and called him directly. LA County deputies then conducted a welfare check at Burke's West Hollywood home, where he showed them a yearbook photo and said he'd only met her once. Deputies confirmed to him that she was thirteen and a runaway. Then they left.  Prosecutors say that's when Burke allegedly paid one of Celeste's junior high classmates a thousand dollars to hand her a new phone so the two could keep in touch. Over the next year, she reportedly traveled with him to Las Vegas, London, and Texas, met his family, got matching tattoos, and wore his name on her ring finger, all while she was in seventh grade.  The unsettling overlap between Burke's public persona and the allegations against him is hard to ignore. His breakout song, his album title, and the alter ego built around both all echo what prosecutors now allege happened inside a Hollywood Hills home. Seven months passed between the discovery of Celeste's remains and Burke's arrest, a window that included three grand jury panels, a friend fleeing to Montana to dodge a subpoena, and Burke's family fighting the grand jury in a Texas courtroom.  Burke now faces first-degree murder with special circumstances, including lying in wait, murder for financial gain, and murder of a witness. The financial gain charge is the one prosecutors say connects the case most directly to Burke's public career.  Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/ [https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/]  Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? D4vd: His Biggest Song Title Hits Differently After a Murder Charge

David Burke's breakout hit has a title that now reads like something pulled directly from a prosecutor's filing. His debut album dropped two days after prosecutors allege Celeste Rivas Hernandez was killed. A 2025 music video depicts imagery that mirrors the prosecution's allegations almost point for point. This episode looks at the art, the charges, and the uncomfortable question of whether any of it will matter when a jury is seated. It also looks at what happened in the seven months between the discovery of remains and an arrest. Three grand juries. A close friend who reportedly fled across the country rather than take the stand. Burke's own parents, who allegedly challenged subpoenas in a Texas court instead of answering questions about a child who had visited their home. When the DA finally filed, they didn't go small. First-degree murder with special circumstances: lying in wait, financial gain, murder of a witness. Prosecutors also allege illegal material involving minors was found on his iCloud. Forty terabytes of evidence total. The preliminary hearing is set for July 21, 2026. This is Part Three of Hidden Killers' investigation into the D4vd case — where the music, the timeline, and the charges all land in the same place.
