South Africa is celebrated in other parts of the world for its anti-corruption efforts, even though South Africans feel ‘battered by stories of corruption, organised crime, greed, and the involvement of powerful people.’ Cheryl Frank, who runs the anti-corruption and accountability project at the Institute for Security Studies, is speaking with Leonard Lekgetho, the SIU Chief Operations Officer (at the time), about the investigative functions of the SIU.
