episode Five Years of Restoration: Looking Back at God's Faithfulness (Ep.019) cover

Description

Five years ago, on July 4, 2021, we became an autonomous local church known as Restoration Church. But our story actually goes back much further than that. In this special anniversary episode of the 412 Podcast, Bryan and Ryan look back on the incredible story of God's faithfulness over the past 60+ years—from church planting and church splits to a devastating fire, seasons of decline, and what once felt like the possible end of the church's story. And yet, by God's grace, that wasn't the end. Together, they reflect on how the Lord brought new life to this church family, the unexpected ways He provided, and the evidences of His grace over the last five years as Restoration Church. From church planting and missionary sending to baptisms, multi-generational families, and remarkable growth, this episode is ultimately a testimony to the faithfulness of God to build His church. Whether you've been here since the Carroll Baptist days or just recently started calling Restoration home, this conversation is an invitation to celebrate what God has done—and to look ahead with hope for what He may still do. In this episode: * The untold history of Restoration Church * How a church split and church fire shaped our story * The journey from Carroll Baptist Church to The Village Church Southlake to Restoration Church * Evidences of God's grace over the last five years * Why this church's story is ultimately a story of God's faithfulness "Unless the Lord builds the house, those who build it labor in vain." – Psalm 127:1

The Battle of Worldviews: Science and Christianity (Ep. 018)

Can Christians trust Genesis in a world shaped by Darwinism? Can science and Scripture actually coexist? In this episode of the 4:12 Podcast, Ryan sits down with molecular biologist, author, and professor Doug Axe to talk about one of the biggest questions Christians face today: Does science disprove creation? Together, they explore intelligent design, Darwinian evolution, the relationship between faith and science, and how Christians—especially students and parents—can navigate classrooms and culture with confidence. Doug shares insights from decades of scientific research, explains why many scientists still embrace materialism, and offers practical encouragement for believers wrestling with difficult questions about Genesis, biology, and truth. Whether you're a parent, student, skeptic, or simply someone trying to understand how faith and science fit together, this conversation will challenge assumptions and strengthen confidence in Scripture. Topics Covered: * Creation vs. evolution * Intelligent design explained * Can science disprove God? * Helping students navigate secular education * Why faith and science are not enemies * Confidence in Genesis and Scripture * How your worldview shapes your beliefs

Kids, Sports, and Church (Ep. 017)

For many families, life feels nonstop. Practices. Games. Tournaments. School schedules. Travel teams. And somewhere in the middle of it all is a question many Christian parents wrestle with: How do we balance kids’ sports and church without losing what matters most? In our latest episode of the 412 Podcast, we have an honest conversation about youth sports, Sunday gatherings, family priorities, and discipleship. This isn’t an anti-sports conversation. We believe sports can teach discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and character in powerful ways. But we also believe the way we structure our lives is shaping our children more than we realize. What sits at the center of your family’s rhythm? That’s really the question. Whether you’re navigating travel sports, packed schedules, or simply trying to lead your family faithfully, this episode is designed to encourage you—not condemn you. Theological Triage (Ep. 016)

We're talking about theological triage, what doctrines fit into what level of importance, and what that tells us about whether we should call that church an Orthodox church, or whether we should not be a part of that fellowship, though it is a Christian church, or whether we should just agree to disagree on the particular doctrine. We hope you find this helpful. -- About the 4:12 Podcast: Ephesians 4:12 says the Lord gave leaders "to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ." The 4:12 podcast is created by Restoration Church in Southlake, TX with an aim to teach and discuss biblical, theological, and cultural topics for the purpose of equipping all believers for gospel ministry in today's world.
