Description

Season 1 comes to a close with the final SPUG tenet: Reflection. In this episode, I discuss why reflection isn't about assigning blame, it's about discovering the next direction. Using military debrief techniques, root-cause analysis, and personal experiences, I explain how looking inward allows us to grow stronger than we were yesterday. Topics include: * Why Reflection completes the SPUG framework * Conducting personal "debriefs" after successes and failures * Using root-cause analysis instead of self-blame * The importance of intrinsic motivation * Why goals may evolve, and why that's okay * Why the nine SPUG tenets are designed to work together, not as isolated principles * A personal story about applying SPUG within my own marriage and what it taught me about grace, clarity, and growth One point I want to emphasize that isn't fully covered in the episode: SPUG was never intended to be used one tenet at a time. Strength, Power, Unity, Growth, and the nine tenets reinforce one another. Reflection isn't the finish line—it continually feeds back into the process, creating momentum for the next goal. Likewise, not every goal deserves to be finished. If a goal no longer aligns with who you've become or the life you're trying to build, it isn't failure to pivot. Stay intrinsically motivated, reflect honestly, and pursue goals that continue moving you toward the best version of yourself. Thank you for joining me throughout Season 1! 😁 As always... Stay Spuggin' ALeeT!
