episode 22-“..Bad luck, or no luck at all..” cover

Description

This episode sees Jordan and I discussing — and at times disagreeing about — the latest action from MotoGP at Balaton Park Circuit in Hungary, the Monaco Grand Prix, IndyCar, and the BTCC at Oulton Park. We chat about the battle between the pretender to the throne, Pedro Acosta, and the current king, Marc Márquez, as they continue their fight for supremacy. We also discuss the incredible rise of Kimi Antonelli, who continues to impress on the biggest stage, plus Ash Sutton leading the BTCC standings heading into the summer break (with the other Hamilton picking up some valuable points too!). And over in IndyCar, Josef Newgarden continues his remarkable run at one of his favourite oval circuits. As always, there’s plenty to discuss, debate, disagree on, and laugh about along the way.

21-“..The Italian Job..”

This episode was an absolute delight for Jordan and I to record…mainly because it was an absolute delight watching MotoGP at Mugello! An Italian rider, on an Italian bike, winning in Italy…yes, Marco Bezzecchi and Aprilia did the honours in stunning fashion. Pecco Bagnaia arguably had his strongest weekend in months, while an injured Marc Marquez was still impressively competitive throughout. Elsewhere, Moto3 delivered the usual chaos and excitement, Manuel Gonzalez dominated Moto2, Alex Palou just keeps on winning in IndyCar after another victory in Detroit, and Mick Schumacher looked on course for a podium before a rather unfortunate “rookie” error cost him dearly. Oh…and Toprak Razgatlioglu winning again in WSBK? That’s now 22 victories…predictable at this point!!! 😂 Add in fresh Ferrari and Charles Leclerc contract talk ahead of his home race in the glamorous streets of Monaco, and there was LOTS for Jordan and I to get stuck into.

20-“..Toto has a good headache..”

Headaches…they are not pleasant are they really…Toto has a headache, and potentially a big one…with both of his drivers on the verge of knocking lumps out of each other’s cars, it’s going to be a fascinating battle in the Mercedes F1 camp. Jordan and I discuss all the action from last weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix, where McLaren faulted, Lewis was in great form, and plenty of other talking points emerged over the weekend. Should women race in F1? Indy 500 drama with the closest finish in history, Ross Brawn linked with MotoGP?!, action-packed BTCC at Snetterton with the Sutton vs Ingram rivalry stepping up another level, plus Nick Hamilton’s incredible achievement winning the Jack Sears Trophy…you had a tear in your eye didn’t you… Much was discussed… and plenty more besides!!!

19-“..Chaos, pure Chaos..”

It was chaos…pure chaos. And honestly, Jordan and I are probably quite glad this particular MotoGP weekend is over. What should have been another brilliant weekend of racing turned into a reminder that motorsport is dangerous and always will be. Two red flags in the main MotoGP race brought plenty of debate — should race control simply have stopped things after the first red flag? Or did they get it right trying to continue? There’s also the question surrounding Joan Mir and tyre pressure penalties…should riders really be punished for something that can sometimes be out of their control during chaotic race conditions? Then there’s Pedro Acosta…just how good is he? Because what he’s doing on machinery that still doesn’t quite look capable of matching the front runners is seriously impressive. And speaking of impressive, Fabio Di Giannantonio claimed his second MotoGP victory in what is rapidly becoming his most consistent season yet. Quietly going about his business while others grab the headlines, but is it now time to start looking at him as a genuine title contender? Meanwhile, Jorge Martín once again found himself crashing…and crashing again. Down the classes, Manuel González showed real class and control in Moto2, while in Moto3, Máximo Quiles looks like he’s operating on another level entirely right now. And it wasn’t only MotoGP causing headlines… With the legendary Indianapolis 500 approaching, practice sessions have already delivered drama, crashes and nervous moments. Álex Palou starts on pole — surely he’s the favourite? Then again…motorsport has a habit of making fools of predictions. Add in action from Formula E, BSB, WSBK, plus heartbreak for Max Verstappen whose Nürburgring 24-hour outing ended with mechanical failure, and it really was one of those weekends where racing never stopped delivering drama. We discuss, debate and probably rant our way through one of the busiest and maddest weekends of motorsport we’ve had in a long time… buckle up.

episode 18-“..Martinator is..BACK!!..” artwork

18-“..Martinator is..BACK!!..”

How much more can Marc Márquez’s body take after his crash in last weekend’s MotoGP sprint race? That was just one of the big talking points Jordan and I discussed as we reflected on all the action from the incredible French motorcycle Grand Prix weekend at Bugatti Circuit. Jorge Martín is definitely up for a battle with team mate Marco Bezzecchi for the world championship, while other riders experienced very mixed weekends across MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3. Mixed conditions in the British Touring Car Championship at Brands Hatch Indy Circuit didn’t stop Ash Sutton’s relentless march towards another championship title. And McLaren finally won a race!!! Not in F1… but in IndyCar at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where surprisingly Álex Palou didn’t even feature on the podium. Meanwhile, the FIA World Endurance Championship race at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps produced a slightly unexpected BMW 1-2 result.
