Description

THE BOOKSHELF PODCAST:  Welcome back everyone! This podcast explores many genre books, themes and opinions on worlds, stories and authors that we may or may not love. We explore ourselves are readers as we review some of our favorites and not so favorites, or even new found favorites.  THIS SEASON, we are HOLDING ourselves accountable and trying to finish all the unread books that have been piling up on my bookshelf, and what better way to do that then for season five.  Hey yall!... Welcome to Episode 15, and unexpected turn to what this series has normally been on, but overall, true to the theme of this season. This episode, we don't have any books to cover, despite having announced the books this episode was supposed to cover, I needed to be honest with all of you. Hopefully, you still enjoy what this episode has to offer, and you feel more connected to this bookshelf community I have started with the Podcast.  Don't worry, we are still reading and we will be back to normal next episode, but please listen in and enjoy! Thank you so much for your support!  Follow me on Instagram: the_bookshelf2023

NOW BEFORE YA'LL GET MAD!.. lol this episode was the ONLY episode that was planned in this chaotic season and it was an episode I knew I needed to do.  With one more episode after this, this episode goes over the future of The Bookshelf and what is to come. I did not want to add all these logistics for our final episode and I do feel like I owe yall a bit of an explanation for my own personal critiques this season. I appreciate all the support this podcast has brought me and this is NOT the end.. but there is a looming question as to what will be next... This episode is going to cover all that!  I hope you all love this little chat, and I will see yall for the SEASON FINALE!!  THANK YA'LL!! FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM!! the_bookshelf2023

Thank you all for being so patient and hanging along this journey with me!  Today we visit a new fantasy world and review The Curse of Saints, by Kate Dramis.  Now, this was the FIRST book to this trilogy, so we are entering new problems, relationships, worlds, etc., and ya girl has some thoughts to share. Was this a great start to a trilogy for us to finish? Are the characters developing? How's the romance? Plot? I go over the story and all that this episode and since we are BACK out of our funk, this episode is one you do not want to miss!  **Disclaimer, these are opinions, not facts, don't get upset if I do not agree with you, reading is subjective. Season 5: Episode 14: Blood and Brujas plus My Soul to Keep.. 2 Book Episode?

THE BOOKSHELF PODCAST:  Welcome back everyone! This podcast explores many genre books, themes and opinions on worlds, stories and authors that we may or may not love. We explore ourselves are readers as we review some of our favorites and not so favorites, or even new found favorites.  THIS SEASON, we are HOLDING ourselves accountable and trying to finish all the unread books that have been piling up on my bookshelf, and what better way to do that then for season five.  Sometimes it amazes me that we are at episode 14, and I have not covered that many Kindle Books. So this episode I decided to read Blood and Brujas by Mikayla D. Hornedo... lets just say there is more to it than meets the eye, and you dont want to miss what I have to say. Did this meet every expectation I had? You know your girl loves her fantasy, especially with some romantic spice.  On top of that we also go into a hard copy book and read and review My Soul to Keep by Tananarive Due. A horror story based off a woman and an immortal being. Is it a love story and a romance i just had to read and admit was good, or is there more to this read. Did I need to sleep with a night light or was this another predictable horror story? I share all my thoughts and more in this episode and you DO NOT want to miss it!  *Disclaimer, these are opinions, not facts, don't get upset if I do not agree with you, reading is subjective.
