S07E08 We'll Put A Pin In Jimmy

SERIES FINALE OF THE LATE SHOW WITH STEPHEN COLBERT: Reviewed! Come one, come all, rally round ye late night talk show fans! It’s time we close out yet another chapter of yet another long beloved institution. No no, not the long rumoured final episode of the CCCAH (which you better believe will arrive all of a sudden and without any fanfare in the run up, unlike Mr. Colbert and the final episode of his Late Show) but something else entirely. A Late Night institution gone forever at the behest of a tyrant-like current president of the U.S.A. because the timeline of 2026 is having a totally normal one. We are both late night fans to some degree, sure. And we have covered an episode or two on this very podcast too. We once reviewed a compilation of Norm appearances on Conan! We reviewed Letterman's appearance on Colbert before. And even an episode of Strike Force Five! But today it’s Thursday and you know what that means! A regular ep of our show. And the final ep of The Late Show. Feelings might be all over the shop. But let’s see if we’ll be like Norm during his final Letterman appearance (unexpectedly starts crying) or Norm during his many Conan appearances (saying “crack whore” a whole lot). Only one way to find out. Tap in. And full ep it. It’s time to save the world from AI with your favourite long-winded superheroes, the CCCAH gang, and … just full ep it. And if you need any extra help. Website it too: cccappraisalhour.show!  You can watch the final episode of Stephen Colbert’s Late Show via all the assembled clips on his YouTube channel. Or try and look for the VHS copy that I’m sure someone on the dark web has already recorded for you: https://www.youtube.com/@ColbertLateShow Here is the Wikipedia for the final episode of The Late Show: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Series_finale_of_The_Late_Show_with_Stephen_Colbert This was Colbert hosting Only In Monroe before beginning his run on The Late Show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVPlMM_aSn4 And then this was Colbert hosting Only In Monroe for the second time, 24 hours after bringing his run hosting Late Night to an end, eleven years after hosting it for the first time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jJTXB5uT_C4 This is Stephen answering the famous questions of his Questionert via many different celebrity guest hosts, one per question: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRvWlAGx7EM This was Jon Stewart’s last appearance on The Late Show! A proper highlight, treat and gem during a final week chock full of highlights, treats and gems: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VXpTa8C4zHs This was the Strike Force Five’s first (and last!) appearance on The Late Show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iU3PSAAgbrU Which led to a brand new episode of Strike Force Five: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zOzkffwHU-Q This was Letterman’s last appearance from the other week (HOT TAKE HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN IN THE FINAL EPISODE): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xzd1XffhWac Ok but this was the final episode of David Letterman’s Late Show. I’m crying. I’m crying big fat Late Show tears: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fakUXT0dvE In order to commemorate the very underwhelming revelation that Christopher has deleted X, here is our old favourite segment the TWEET OF THE WEEK (TWITTER LIVES!): https://x.com/DiscussingFilm/status/2059757212244103201 Check out our e-mail: cccappraisalhour@gmail.com Check out our Twitter: twitter.com/cccappraisalpod Check out our YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@cccappraisalhour Check out our Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cccahour Special FAVE MOMENT FROM THE POD RECORD note for VIP read-the-whole-show-notes-members only: When I lost connection and had to vamp for a minute and all i had was “Trump … late night … the thing about Trump is … late night” lol … but hey, if the editing of this episode is on point (and I’m told a painstaking job was done this week) … you’ll never hear tell of this. *shhing emoji*  SPOILERS BELOW FOR NEXT WEEK: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AiHsGZCzUHQ ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast. S07E07 Don’t do the looking at the watch gimmick

SEASON 2 EPISODE 1 of DON’T TRUST THE B—— IN APARTMENT 23: Reviewed! Welcome to the show buddies, chums and fellow well-wishers! It’s the show we like to call the triple C, with a lil bit of the A to the H! Today we’re not trusting the B in Apartment 23. Don’t trust the C (content) in the CC (cultural consumption), to be honest with you. Don’t trust the appraisal hour bro in the cccappraisalhour.show! But do check out the website, it’s the best website. Special drop down menu for special episodes coming soon. And there very much is a search function despite the more technologically inept of our hosts taking a minute to get his head around it.  I love doing this podcast, honestly, I do. As much as I might make jokes to the contrary, those are just little haha funnies. Skits and bits. But the main thing I love about this show? CLIPPING OUT CLIPS! I love it. I live for it. I have just started doing it. From spending seven seasons (three of which hurt Christopher’s feelings, like a tiny bit) refusing to listen back to the product, I now consume it avidly. In order to harvest it for clips for the socials. Clickbait, sure. Ragebait, sure. Whatever I can find. On today’s episode. Talk about SNL and The Simpsons (hello some CCCAH classic references!) might make it … gristle for the clip mill! You heard me. Check out our instagram and see you there for all the clips you can shake a stick at (we’ll be aiming for 2 a week): https://www.instagram.com/cccahour So anyway, here is Season 2 Episode 1 of the Bitch show: https://www.disneyplus.com/en-gb/play/87504794-b262-4945-9b1e-c22e80b30ffe Here is an interview with Nahnatchka Khan about things other than the Bitch show, from the good people at Made By Pop Culture: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g5lzlkNpYtg Back in the day when he was cool and worked with Jimmy Kimmel and did interviews with Norm Macdonald, Adam Carolla also did interviews with show creators, such as this one featuring the producers of the Bitch show: https://open.spotify.com/episode/510czZzKzVzRcPKNBGVlef?si=c12b9d01a304471e Tweet of the week: https://x.com/ratlimit/status/2056845791155675434 The Jude Law Uber Eats ad that Chrostopher was not especially impressed with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=agi37U3G_SM The latest Joke Swap from SNL that Christopher was not especially impressed with: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFFz6ZI_J-8 Check out our Twitter: twitter.com/cccappraisalpod Check out our YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@cccappraisalhour Special FAVE MOMENT FROM MARATHON note for VIP read-the-whole-show-notes-members only: When I said “I’m a very Busy guy, I don’t have time to look it up” I capitalised the “Busy” in my mind but I’m not sure Christopher heard it … Christopher, this was a reference to Busy Phillips. Yep. I really did nail it like that. Shout out Busy Phillips. Star of seasons 5 and 6 of Dawson’s Creek. How dare I say I was waiting for a Dawson’s Creek star to show up before the end of Season 2 when Busy Phillips literally turned up in this episode!  SPOILERS BELOW FOR NEXT WEEK: https://www.youtube.com/@ColbertLateShow https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_dVEtLPdDE for our lives to be over I want to know right now what will it be I don't want to wait for our lives to be over Will it be yes or will it be sorry? S07E06 I’m Sabastian Sawe Up In This Bitch

RUNNER’S WORLD MAY ISSUE: Reviewed!  What we talk about when we talk about podcasting. Well. We did it gang! We’re here. At the finish line. Dead. We ran the London Marathon! Success, just about! It was all such a big deal I might make an entire Instagram post about it, who knows?! Or maybe a website. Ah why bother, could never better this one: cccappraisalhour.show!  As a podcast we have run a total of 3 London Marathons. And about 10 marathons total, if our math is mathing correctly. If any of our biographers out there would like to quibble with the maths we did during this ep (which we have surely done before) we would appreciate corrections. You can reach us at cccappraisalhour@gmail.com! I would be beyond flabbergasted if anyone has any new information to add to my list but hey, you never know. Life is long and we are old now! On a weekly basis, you hear us struggle to remember what we have said on the pod (whether it be last week or a few years ago) so surely there might be a few more races in our bygone eras than we recall. Locked in with our eras!   Chris has the photoshoot takes and I have the quotes. But now it's time for you to read the main feature of this month's Runner's World: https://www.runnersworld.com/uk/training/motivation/a70591239/harry-styles-marathon-haruki-murakami/ Read the Sabastian Sawe article your boys were raving about. The headline might be different in the print versus the online version but we can assure you that after some vetting, the final paragraph is in fact exactly the same in both cases: https://www.runnersworld.com/uk/news/a71016450/sebastian-sawe-london-marathon/ Read Haruki Murakami’s first article in Runner’s World. 20 plus years ago you know. This passage of time stuff is not a psy op guys, it’s real: https://www.runnersworld.com/runners-stories/a20845602/im-a-runner-haruki-murakami/ This video is entitled “Chasing Sub 2 The Journey of Sabastian Sawe’s Historic 1:59:30 Marathon” and after watching it I can confirm I am not Sabastian Sawe up in this bitch haha but maybe in our own small ways in other areas of our lives … we can all persevere and pursue our goals … and, in a way … be Sabastian Saw up in this bitch. You know? You know: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qRr0lmYvp5g Let me take this time out to address Hearst Magazines. Let. Me. Cancel. My. Fucking. Account. You have one week. You made a special offer for people intrigued by the Harry Styles issue. It worked on me. But now I want out. And you’re making it far too difficult. If you refuse to free me, I will start making it a weekly segment on my podcast. You have been warned: account.hearstmagazines.co.uk   Harry Styles’ new album is nice. I think the Murakami interview is as good a bit of press for it as his Zane Lowe interview to be fair: https://open.spotify.com/album/69BqE1V8Bzb9GCyeP1fFeR Christopher you can catch up with your precious stories here mate, all the marathon material you can take: https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/b00b0998/london-marathon Check out our Twitter: twitter.com/cccappraisalpod Check out our YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@cccappraisalhour Check out our Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cccahour (WE ARE POPPING OFF! REELS! POSTS! WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE? HELP ME!? STAY TUNED!)  Special FAVE MOMENT FROM MARATHON note for VIP read-the-whole-show-notes-members only: When I heard this tall guy with a bunch of girls screaming “JEFF” while I was in horrendous pain and then I heard the dude be like “I love that boy” and I was like aww I love my fans lol. Also thanks for looking out for my family … even though I gave you their numbers and I gave them your number you all keep claiming it was fate that brought you all together. Weird.  SPOILERS BELOW FOR NEXT WEEK: https://www.disneyplus.com/en-gb/play/87504794-b262-4945-9b1e-c22e80b30ffe ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast. episode S00E24 MOVIE CLUB: Michael artwork

S00E24 MOVIE CLUB: Michael

MICHAEL: Reviewed! It’s a Michael special! That’s right. The movie Michael. The Michael Jackson biopic. Christopher wanted to do a A Complete Unknown but for him this time. Well you got it buddy. Maybe we didn’t get a whole movie day in town for it but still. We both watched the film (and scored it? Why lol) and then talked about it for an hour. Which is literally all we want.  I can’t believe it. He can’t believe it. You can’t believe it. What are we doing here? I kind of can’t remember a time when I didn’t associate Michael Jackson with Christopher Anousis and vice versa. I’m sure I was aware of MJ before I met CA. But then I met CA … and just a few short years later we started the CCCAH, you know the story by now. Who should play us in the biopic? I think I’ll be played by BJ Novak and Christopher will be played by Jim from The Office. What’s his name? You know, Emily Blunt’s husband. Jack Ryan. Hey, wait, these dudes are too American. Ok I’ll be played by Riz Ahmed and Christopher will be played by Stavros Halkias lol close enough, whatever. This is why you just get your brother’s kid to play you. It’s easier.  I’ll never forget when Michael Jackson died. Christopher was at Glastonbury. I was not. I literally called him when I saw the news. And I rarely will call. But this time called for a call. We just chatted for a few minutes but I had to check in. I’ll never forget it. He has probably forgotten it for years and just now reading it in the show notes he’s like “wait, did that for real happen?” My friend. I can assure you it did. And then you saw The Boss and Neil Young without me ugh whatever.   Watch Michael if you like. At a cinema. Like myvue.com   Christopher’s favourite bit of media ever, it sounds like, is called “The Jacksons An American Dream” and lives in its entirety here on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFoBmNdzPe4 Michael Jackson on Oprah: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jKlqIh4STt8 Spike Lee being Spike Lee: https://uk.news.yahoo.com/spike-lee-shuts-down-critics-171500130.html Christopher is not a fan of Chapo Trap House because he doesn’t like the comparison of Trump and Michael Jackson but hey … just listen to the whole clip lol points were made by the greatest political podcast of our time, happy ten years CTH: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EKVOCBckx48 This is Mark Kermode’s review of the hagiography that is Michael: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wTeKjkZ2IZ4 This is the Jacobin review of Michael, which typifies the general critical reception: https://jacobin.com/2026/05/michael-jackson-biopic-film-review Tom Breihan, on the other hand, didn’t hate Michael! So I guess we have that also: https://stereogum.com/2496783/i-didnt-hate-michael/reviews/movie-review Welcome to … *the actual last special* … for now? THE JOURNEY CONTINUES! Check out our website: cccappraisalhour.show Check out our e-mail: cccappraisalhour@gmail.com Check out our Twitter: twitter.com/cccappraisalpod Check out our YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@cccappraisalhour Check out our Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cccahour Special FAVE MOMENT FROM THE POD RECORD note for VIP read-the-whole-show-notes-members only: When we did our not terrible impressions to be fair. What if we had just done the whole pod doing Michael Jackson/Joe Jackson/Don King voices? Would that have been sick?  The Journey Continues! Damn, I said that already. Well, it does though!  ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy [https://acast.com/privacy] for more information.

S00E23 ALBUMS ONLY CLUB Signed Sealed Delivered by Stevie Wonder

SIGNED, SEALED & DELIVERED BY STEVIE WONDER: Reviewed!  Well well well. Season 6 ended. And six regular episodes passed us by. But we’re finally back baby. It’s Album Club *the sound of energy gel being sucked on*. That’s right, Albums ONLY Club. No things that are not albums! And this is episode 2. How many episodes of albums only club will there be? Well not as many as how many months in a year there are!   Another free of charge episode! Patreon just not paying up the big bucks quite yet. But stay tuned, maybe they (AS IN: YOU!) will. When you realise the value we provide. Each episode so chock full of both LOLS and INSIGHT. Give us money for the lols and the insight, that’s all we’re saying. Project we’ll continue to provide plenty of both for at least another season and compensate us now.Tie us down to a really unfair contract. We’ll sign away control of our Masters. Whatever it takes. Gary Lineker/Neville, where are youse?!  Anyway. Albums Only Club will be a new ad-hoc series in which we review an ALBUM whenever we feel we have absorbed the album properly (20 listens minimum gang, anyone?) whether that be a week, one month or several months between. Christopher’s pitch started us off with The Parlour by Picture Parlour and this week Jeffrey’s first pitch for episode 2 is Signed, Sealed and Delivered by Stevie Wonder. Stevie Wonder is a pretty famous singer. One of the best-selling music artists of all time and currently 75 years old. This album we are discussing today is (depending on where you start with his discography) either his 11th or 12th studio album, though it is still often thought of as one of his best early albums.  In terms of scores in this bonus series, we’re doing out of ten and averages. Stevie. I know your career has been an absolutely glittering showcase of achievements and triumph so far but this out of 10 rating bestowed upon you by the AAACH, via the good people at the CCCAH is truly what you have been waiting for. I hope it’s everything you have been waiting for and more.  Listen to the album on streaming here: https://music.apple.com/us/album/signed-sealed-and-delivered/1469582082 Buy the album from the Motown website here: https://shop.motownrecords.com/collections/stevie-wonder/products/stevie-wonder-signed-sealed-delivered-lp Read a new New York Times article on the genius of Stevie Wonder’s songwriting: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2026/04/27/magazine/stevie-wonder-composer-preacher-visionary.html Read fans talking through their favourite Stevie Wonder performances here: https://www.reddit.com/r/StevieWonder/comments/1pk7tr4/what_are_yalls_favorite_stevie_wonder_live/ OUR COLLECTIVE CCCAAH/AAACH score: eight and a half out of ten  Check out our website: cccappraisalhour.show Check out our e-mail: cccappraisalhour@gmail.com Check out our Twitter: twitter.com/cccappraisalpod Check out our YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@cccappraisalhour Check out our Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cccahour Spoiler below for next month’s album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KjufQM2jeXs ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast.
