About Chaos, Crumbs & Clarity

Welcome to Crumbs, Chaos & Clarity - the podcast for elder millennials trying to heal, hustle, cry attractively (or not), and make peace with the fact that dinner was just three slices of cheese and a mood. Hosted by a slightly unhinged, deeply introspective chaos goblin (hi), this show dives into life, love, grief, growth, soft feminism, loud feelings, and why you absolutely can rebuild your life from the bathroom floor… as long as there’s tea. Each episode is equal parts pep talk, group therapy, and voice note at 2am. We unpack the mess, honour the tiny wins, and find clarity in the crumbs. If you’ve ever spiral-texted your therapist or cried over laksa in public, congratulations: you’re home.

Thanks for Asking, but Yeah, Nah

In today’s episode of Chaos, Crumbs and Clarity, we’re diving headfirst into one of the most powerful, underused magic words in the English language: no. This one’s for every millennial people-pleaser who grew up thinking boundaries were rude and self-care was selfish. For every soft-hearted soul who said yes when she wanted to scream. For anyone who ever smiled sweetly while quietly setting themselves on fire to keep the peace. I’m pulling back the curtain on my own journey — from a boundary-less chaos goblin who said yes to everything (even when I was sick in bed) to someone who can now say no without writing a 400-word essay or fake coughing into the phone. We’re talking about how saying no isn’t rude, it’s radical. How every yes is also a no to something else. And how the smallest no can be the start of the biggest freedom. You’ll hear a very real, very raw story from my own life — the night I said yes to my ex-husband while sick, got screamed at by his mum, and ended up walking home in freezing Glasgow weather, in boots I had no business walking in. Spoiler alert: saying yes didn’t bring me closer to anyone — it just reminded me how far I’d strayed from myself. We unpack how boundaries aren’t walls to keep people out — they’re velvet ropes guiding people in. We talk about what it means to disappoint others in order to honour yourself, and how incredibly freeing that can feel once the guilt stops screaming quite so loudly. I’ll remind you (again and again if you need it) that you don’t owe anyone access to your time, your energy, or your inbox. Especially if they’re the kind of person who throws a tantrum the moment you take your energy back. If you’ve ever felt like you’re running on empty from constantly over-giving, or if you’ve ever crafted a Shakespearean tale to avoid attending a brunch you never wanted to go to in the first place — this episode will speak to your very soul. It’s cheeky. It’s honest. It’s a little bit sassy. And it’s absolutely brimming with permission to choose yourself — even when it feels uncomfortable. Especially when it feels uncomfortable. So whether you’re listening while walking home in the dark (hopefully not in four-inch heels), hiding in the loo at a party you didn’t want to attend, or curled up with your fluffy pyjamas and a well-earned cup of tea — this one’s for you. Thanks for Asking, but Yeah, Nah might just be the most important yes you say all year. Let’s get into it.

Healing Isn’t Beige. It’s Covered in Crumbs at 2am

In today’s episode of Chaos, Crumbs and Clarity, we’re pulling back the beige linen curtain on what healing actually looks like — and spoiler alert: it’s not softly lit journalling sessions and rose quartz water bottles. It’s crying into a bowl of cereal at 2am, rage-texting your ex (then deleting it), and realising you’ve been performing wellness like it’s a school play. I’m talking about the messy, snack-fuelled, slightly unhinged version of healing that doesn’t get enough credit. This episode dives headfirst into the myth of aesthetic healing — the Instagram grid of perfect routines and overpriced moon dust that makes us feel like we’re failing if our trauma doesn’t come with a side of soy candles. We unpack how healing has been commodified, filtered, and sold back to us with a hefty price tag and a smug grin. But the truth? Healing doesn’t care about your colour palette. It cares that you’re showing up. We’re also talking about what happens when you accidentally say the quiet part out loud — like texting your ex you’re jealous and then realising, wait, that’s not cute, that’s a whole trauma response. And from there, we spiral (beautifully) into ChatGPT therapy sessions, breakdown snack plates, and the emotional whiplash of being an elder millennial still trying to make sense of it all. Because healing at forty? Is not failure — it’s generational endurance. Oh, and journalling? We’re going there. Because not all healing needs a pen licence. If your healing doesn’t come with loopy cursive and a five-year planner, that’s okay. Maybe yours comes with sarcasm, spreadsheets, or yelling into the void while rewatching Star Trek. Maybe your version of healing is snacky, loud, and shaped like a chaos goblin in bright orange heels. So if you’ve ever felt like you’re too messy to be healing, or like you’re doing it wrong because it doesn’t look like someone else’s curated self-care reel — this episode is your permission slip. To cry. To spiral. To snack. To be gloriously, brightly, rebelliously you. Beige be damned. For more, visit livingwithbry.com
