Description

In this episode I explore the connection between Somatic Work and ADHD.   What if ADHD isn't just in the mind, but also living deep in our nervous system? I discuss how chronic stress, advice from others, masking, and emotional dysregulation often show up physically, and how body based practices can support greater self awareness and resilience when living with ADHD. I wrote this episode hoping to give you a greater understanding of somatic work, how to use it, and some tools to try, to reconnect to your body and nervous system.  I encourage you to be patient with yourself,  begin by being curious, instead of judgmental.  Join me as I explore how working with your nervous system- not against it- can create more ease, presence, and self-trust in everyday life, while living with ADHD. https://www.epidemicsound.com/music/tracks/77b84d16-db6d-4d57-8f1e-8bceda990d60/ https://www.epidemicsound.com/music/tracks/723c6402-a9ae-4a2a-8f51-38c0d2ba3fba/ https://www.epidemicsound.com/music/tracks/723c6402-a9ae-4a2a-8f51-38c0d2ba3fba/ https://www.epidemicsound.com/music/tracks/62389998-d503-436b-8034-769cd7465a1d/ Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2605095/fan_mail/new]

"I know everything about my trauma- So why am I still stuck?

What happens when you have done all the research, understand all your patterns, and can explain your trauma better than anyone- but nothing seems to change? Trauma isn't just a story held in the mind, it's an experience carried in the body.  Sometimes the next step isn't to learn more. It might just be to feel more. In this episode, I explore the risk of becoming an expert in your trauma and forgetting that safety might be the only thing that can get us to feel normal again.  It's important that the imprint our experiences leave on us don't hold us back from the present moment.  That is what I love about somatic work.  You don't have to relive your experiences, you just get to create new ones that make your body feel safe and then you can begin to heal.  I hope you enjoy this episode. https://www.epidemicsound.com/music/tracks/5dda51f8-8388-3b50-8373-4be6fbf6aa7f/ Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2605095/fan_mail/new]
