About The Harmony of Stories

I love stories that come out of conversation because they hold so many things all at once – memories, emotions, lessons, new perspectives, comic relief and so much more. They have the power to move us, to open our hearts, to connect us, to heal us. Stories offer a window into another person’s universe, and I get to see what it’s like to experience life from their eyes. They are an invitation to celebrate what makes us unique and what makes us the same. Join me as I sit down to chat with the remarkable people I meet during my travels throughout the USA.

Episode 12 - Heaven in Stanton, Kentucky | Birth, Trauma, Vaccine Injuries, Natural Healing, Homeschooling, Permaculture

I have a very powerful episode to share with you today. I sat down with my friend Heaven and we covered a lot… she spoke on topics that both she and I are passionate about, like homeschooling, hospital and natural birth, birth trauma, permaculture, motherhood, vaccine injuries and healing from disease naturally and holistically. Having myself experienced trauma and dissonance from the healthcare system, the topics Heaven and I talked about are ones I hold close to my heart. I’m very passionate about empowerment, self-advocacy and learning how to tap into your own healing abilities. Also, the rise of the divine feminine is something that I care about deeply, and has been a huge part of my journey in this realm. People all over the world are reclaiming their power and remembering who they truly are - it’s nothing short of stunning to witness, and this episode speaks to that energy a lot.  I am just so impressed with Heaven. She shares incredible stories of healing herself from debilitating illnesses, particularly PCOS and IBS. Heaven and her stories of overcoming adversity and coming out the other side happier and stronger than ever, just wow - she is a testament to the strength and resilience of women and the fire that is motherhood … and.. the undying flame that is the human spirit. Heaven is currently studying to become a doula, breastfeeding counselor and lactation consultant. She does a lot of work in those spaces and others - if you would like to connect with her, you’ll find her at https://bit.ly/heavensFB [https://bit.ly/heavensFB] and https://www.instagram.com/_offgridheaven_/ [https://www.instagram.com/_offgridheaven_/]. Heaven has put together an amazing resource, which she offers for free, called Heaven’s Birth Binder: A Holistic Guide to A Spiritual and Natural Birth. You can find it at https://bit.ly/heaven_birth_binder [https://bit.ly/heaven_birth_binder].  This episode is a hard-hitting, emotional one - there were some tears! I know you’ll get a lot out of it, just as I did.  The two books I mentioned are “Vaccines, Autoimmunity, and the Changing Nature of Childhood Illness” by Dr Tom Cowan, and “Women Who Run With The Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estés”.   I quoted a line from a song during our conversation - it was “Everything that looks bad is a blessing, carrying us to know our very strengths”. It’s called This Is What Our Love Looks Like by Jason Mraz, and that is our song of the week. You can search for it on Spotify or your favorite music player. Episode 11 - Sami in Barbourville, Kentucky | Kentucky Culture, The 1950's, Country Music, Public School, Life in Small Southern Towns

In this episode, I share my conversation with my friend Sami. He is, so far, my youngest guest on the podcast! Sami shared about what it’s like being a 13-year-old boy in Barbourville, and he educated me on Kentucky culture, baptisms, 50’s country music and trucks. We talked about public school, his grandparents, life in small southern towns and his dream of being a farmer one day. It was really good fun spending time with Sami. He’s very funny, confident and in my opinion quite wise for his age. After we recorded for the podcast, he showed me his record collection. And what was really special is that I got to listen to his favorite song “Good Night Sweetheart Goodnight”, which is not available anywhere online, as well as some songs from his grandfather’s record. That was really beautiful - to hear Sami’s grandad’s singing fill the room.  I asked Sami to pick the song of the week and he chose “Hey Good Lookin’” by Hank Williams. On YouTube, it's at https://youtu.be/bjCoKslQOEs, or you can search for it on Spotify or your favorite music player. Playlists | Song lists! Mark your calendars! https://wildflower.cloud/links/ [https://theendofcovid.com/] The end of covid is exactly what it sounds like. For the first time ever, we’re coming together to educate the public on a mass scale about everything that’s transpired over the past 3 years. And so much more. With 88 sessions, The End of Covid will cover everything from electron microscopy to masks. We’re going all the way back to the origins of the germ theory of disease, and touching on every so-called “pandemic” up to the present. Exposing the granular details of these concepts to the masses is the only way we can put an end to this fictional reality show once and for all. Finally, on June 20th, the show is over.  Much love to you all!

Episode 10 - DeRhonda in Corbin, Kentucky | Homemakers Association, Retirement, Teaching, Homeschooling

In this episode I share my conversation with my friend DeRhonda. DeRhonda is the president of the Homemakers Association here in Knox County, Kentucky. She is a retired teacher and she is currently homeschooling her grandson. She also teaches Bible Study at her local church. We talked about retirement, caretaking elders, of course teaching and homeschooling, self-directed learning, reading, cross stitch and more. This was such a heart-warming conversation, I enjoyed it very much. DeRhona is a bright light of a human being, I’m sure you’ll agree with me. The homeschooling author I mentioned during this podcast is John Taylor Gatto. https://www.johntaylorgatto.com/. Episode 9 - Will in Oneida, Kentucky | Elk, Farming and Wildlife Restoration in KY, Pasture-Raised Meat, Intensive Rotational Grazing, Silvopasture

In this episode, I share my conversation with Will Bowling of Old Homeplace Farm in Oneida, Kentucky. Will is a wildlife biologist, conservationist and grass farmer. We talk about the history of elk and subsistence farming in Southeastern Kentucky, the restoration and return of wildlife in this region, the incredible benefits of raising ruminants (cows, goats and sheep) and pigs on pasture, intensive rotational grazing, silvopasture (growing trees in pasture for shade, synergy and abundance), and how they manage their livestock in the winter months. Working with nature to create more ease, flow and abundance is one of my favorite things to talk about or listen to! Hearing about regenerating and building soil through holistic management of land is something that makes my heart happy. I very much enjoyed this conversation; I learned a lot and I know you will too.  Old Homeplace Farm is now open for sign-ups to the summer season of their CSA (or vegetable subscription service!) and they’ve just added a bunch of fresh veggies to their online store. If you live in the area I would highly recommend checking them out. Support your local farmers! Connect with Will and Maggie at Old Homeplace Farm at https://www.oldhomeplacefarm.com/ [https://www.oldhomeplacefarm.com/] or via their Instagram page https://www.instagram.com/oldhomeplacefarm/ [https://www.instagram.com/oldhomeplacefarm/].  The book I mentioned is “The Omnivore’s Dilemma: A Natural History of Four Meals” by Michael Pollan. I highly recommend this book, it’s simply brilliant! One of the best introductory books you could read on the topic of permaculture and slow food.  Song of the week.. I thought it might be fun to have some bluegrass - let’s do Kentucky Borderline by Rhonda Vincent. Episode 8 - A few words from me | Judgment and Prejudice, Peace, Unconditional Love

In this episode I share my reflections on judgement and prejudice, peace and unconditional love. I read a short essay I wrote several weeks ago about judgement, a children's story about an alligator and his feathery friends, and my favorite poem on unconditional love. I also share a few stories about trash, shadow work and releasing stuck emotions. Finally, my friend Andrew Walsh reads the story of the Chinese Farmer.
