Why am I so tired? Understanding fatigue as a messenger and how to reclaim energy

Welcome to The Healing Diaries—a journey into holistic health, personal transformation, and true healing without overwhelm. In this episode I want to offer a new way to understand and relate to fatigue—one that's more helpful and empowering and ultimately effective. Because fatigue isn't just something to push through or eliminate. It's a messenger. In our society, fatigue and stress have been painted as villains—things to fight against or get rid of at all costs. We drink coffee to override tiredness, push through exhaustion, and reward productivity over rest. I get it. I've spent years dragging my tired body through long shifts, expecting it to function like everyone else's. But what's the cost of treating fatigue as something to battle instead of something to listen to? Just like stress, fatigue is trying to tell us something. It highlights areas where something isn't working in our body or in our life. Ignoring it—by masking it with caffeine, pushing through, or numbing out—only disconnects us further from what our body truly needs. The farther we get from it, the harder it can be to come back to balance. When we do this long enough, our bodies will eventually send louder signals to get our attention.
