The NSFW Episode
Hello, Listeners. High, I’m Hope, and what you’re about to hear is a very special episode of The Lanes Between that has been long promised, long in production, and long overdue.
But first, we have some housekeeping to attend to.
On one of our recent episodes, Caitvi: A statistical analysis, we spend some time lionizing an author of a fic that turns out, is not worth lionizing.
Quite the opposite, in fact.
Safe to say, those of us involved in the episode did not know details at the time of recording, and while we certainly stand by the cold hard numbers that were thoroughly researched and presented by our very own Rabbit, you can rest assured that we do not stand by any of the praise we put on someone so undeserving - namely, the author Misthios.
Admin has been made aware of certain behaviors Misthios has undertaken that have resulted in bans from public CaitVi servers. We regret lionizing this creator now knowing their real life behaviors and we will do our best to be responsible stewards of our platform within fandom.
We’ll try to more aware of who we’re talking about going forward, and we’ll use this as a learning opportunity to be better in the future.
In Addition, our production of regular podfic readings has slowed down, which you may have noticed, this being the first episode to drop in nearly a month. This is largely thanks to a horrible compounding of broken schedules, family emergencies, and incredibly busy lead actors. We’re trying our best for y'all behind the scenes, and we still have a lot of fun and exciting stuff coming down the pipe, including the continued production of Run at the Cup. It’s not easy to edit this stuff together, so we truly thank you for your patience with our limited production abilities at the moment. Shout out to our beloved audio wizard Juli, who goes above and beyond on every fic episode to bring you the highest quality possible.
Otherwise, getting into the meat of the matter at hand, what you’re about to hear is something our fearless director Meesh had promised months back, finally made real, with a few twists to the original premise. The first chunk of the episode is an interview between myself, Heybosshotsauce, and Intimacy Coordinator/Consultant/Choreographer Brianna-Lynn Baker, who was brought in to talk about everyone’s favorite lesbian bunker sequence.
Brianna-lynn is a hell of a presence, in addition to her IC work she is also a skilled improv comedian, actress, model, disability advocate, and taco bell enthusiast, and you can find her at Briannalynnbaker.com, and on instagram at Beingbriannalynn. She’s a real crackerjack of a guest, and I think you’ll enjoy her take on the Sesbian Lex Bunker sequence of our favorite fictional lesbians.
The second part of the episode is what was actually promised months back, a fully voiced and narrated NSFW sequence that normally gets cut from The Lanes Between, presented here in full drunken enthusiastic glory. It’s already incredibly NSFW, in which Boss, Con, and I get drunk, smoke weed, and generally have a real knee slapper of a time.
