Amy hems and haws over all things French, Lacy takes a sharp turn into politics that could lead us to a real faux pas, and we agree that when it comes to haute couture, we're more bargain bin than runway-ready.

Harry Turtledove’s ‘Three Miles Down’ takes us down, WAY down the rabbit hole. Past Nixon and Watergate, past unearthly chimeras, all the way to Colonel freaking Sanders. Whether you’re a fan or not, we can all agree: grad students are the worst.

In this episode on ‘The Whispers’ by Ashley Audrain, we dream up our next big business idea and try not to see too much of ourselves in some of the worst people you’ve ever met. And, sadly (or thankfully, depending on your perspective), there are no tortoise appendages involved.

A surprise guest joins us for this episode on ‘Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Lord’ by Celeste Connally (not to be confused with the similarly titled but infinitely less entertaining book by Steve Harvey). We meet the Twilight version of Sherlock Holmes, try to solve all the world’s problems in a single book, but most importantly – more white soup.

2.11 - Where the Words Are Made Up and the Plot Doesn't Matter

We close out season 2 with Addlands by Tom Bullough. It's a pace change from the madcap adventures of previous books, a slowdown to help ease us into the break. Will it continue the trends we've seen so far this season with romance and the search for immortality and, most importantly, are date rape drugs involved? You'll have to listen to find out.
