Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2436048/fan_mail/new] For years, most truck drivers have walked past those Truckers Against Trafficking posters hanging in truck stops without giving them much thought. I know I did. Like a lot of people, I assumed human trafficking was something that happened somewhere else—big cities, foreign countries, dark alleys, and places far removed from everyday life on the road. The truth is far more complicated. Human trafficking happens in communities across America, including places truck drivers visit every day. Truck stops, rest areas, hotels, restaurants, gas stations, and travel centers can all become points of contact between victims, traffickers, and the people who may be in a position to help. In this episode, we take a closer look at Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT), how the organization got started, why truck drivers have become such an important part of the fight against human trafficking, and what warning signs every driver should know. This isn't about becoming a detective. It's not about confronting suspects. It's about understanding what human trafficking really looks like, recognizing when something doesn't seem right, and knowing how to report it safely. Sometimes one phone call can make all the difference. If you're a truck driver, a transportation professional, or simply someone who wants to learn more about this issue, I hope you'll watch, share, and help spread awareness. Because the first step in helping is knowing what to look for. 🚛 Resources Mentioned: Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT)  Learn more about their mission, training programs, and free resources. National Human Trafficking Hotline:  📞 1-888-373-7888  📱 Text "HELP" or "INFO" to 233733 (BEFREE) If you suspect human trafficking, do not intervene directly. Report what you see to the appropriate authorities and let trained professionals handle the situation. 💬 Have you ever taken the TAT training? Have you ever encountered a situation on the road that just didn't seem right? S03E08 Dealing with Life When You Can Not Be Home

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2436048/fan_mail/new] There are some phone calls that change your life forever. I was in Toledo, Ohio, picking up a load when I got the call that my sister had unexpectedly passed away. In a matter of seconds, everything changed. One moment I was just another truck driver doing my job... the next, I was trying to figure out how to cope with overwhelming grief while still being hundreds of miles away from my family. In this episode, I share what happened, how my company and dispatcher helped me get home, and some practical advice for other drivers who may one day find themselves facing the same heartbreaking situation. Life doesn't stop just because you're on the road. As truck drivers, we miss birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, and sometimes we're faced with tragedies that happen when we're hundreds—or even thousands—of miles from the people we love. This isn't an episode about having all the answers. It's about navigating one of the hardest realities of life on the road, taking care of yourself, knowing when to ask for help, and remembering that no load is more important than getting home safely. If you've ever received one of those life-changing phone calls while you were away from home, this episode is for you. To every driver out there: be safe, be kind to yourself, and don't be afraid to lean on the people around you. Sometimes the strongest thing you can do is admit you can't carry the weight alone. Thank you for being part of this community. Keep the bugs off your glass, the bears off your ass, and always keep the shiny side up. #GenXTrucking #TruckDriver #LifeOnTheRoad #TruckingLife #MentalHealth #Grief #TruckingCommunity #TheMightyPhilbert #ProfessionalDriver #Truckers

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2436048/fan_mail/new] Have you noticed how anger seems to dominate social media? Tonight we're talking about the rise of outrage culture on Trucking YouTube and social media in general. Why do angry videos get so many views? Why do creators seem pushed toward more extreme content? Is social media rewarding the loudest voices instead of the smartest ones? This isn't a political discussion and it's not about calling out specific creators. It's a conversation about culture, algorithms, human nature, and the trucking community.
