Description

Mike catches a weight clip on chest day and lives to tell the tale (ego: not so much). Tony survives his first colonoscopy and somehow this leads to a conversation about the army that drunkenly wiped itself out in 1788. We break down Gaethje's brutal liver shot on Topuria, debate whether the government belongs anywhere near the UFC, and learn why hatters used to go insane (mercury, not millinery skills). Then it's straight into '90s fashion nostalgia, the Grateful Dead's legendary Wall of Sound, and a deep dive on Indy cars vs. NASCAR that neither of us should be allowed to explain on air. Plus: Juneteenth history, a dad joke, and a guy named Boston Corbett who really committed to the bit. We got it all this week. Episode 281: The Trillionaire, the Trout, and the AirPod

Tony went fly fishing in Grand Junction and caught absolutely nothing. Mike went fly fishing at Deckers and caught a rainbow trout in the lip on his first real attempt. These are the facts. From there, things spiral: the Dirtyheads dropped a new album (Seven Seas), David Foral is hosting a pop-up at Federales, Elon Musk officially became the world's first trillionaire (SpaceX went public — congrats to all of us, we guess), a woman swallowed her AirPod and spent four days with a plastic baggie and a disposable fork, and a man in Detroit had a splinter in his eye for fifteen years and his vision was almost perfect. We also covered cryogenic preservation, the Coca-Cola Magic Cans of 1990, prehistoric humans hunting short-faced bears in their sleep (literally), platypus venom, a 507-year-old clam that scientists killed just to find out how old it was, and a reminder that only 44% of your cells are actually yours. Shoutout to Kyle — the first lungfish to crawl out of the water and start all of this. Cheers! m&t

Episode 280: Some People Are Built Different (And Some People Just Have Gout)

Episode 280, baby — only 20 away from 300 and we're NOT slowing down. This week Mike and Tony go deep on gout (yes, gout), the genetics behind who gets it, and whether Couch Guy was always destined for the couch. Then it's a full breakdown of which sports actually produce the most elite athletes, a Nolan Ryan appreciation segment nobody asked for but everyone needed, and somehow we end up on Mike Tyson eating a fistful of mushrooms on Logan Paul's podcast like it's nothing. It's science. It's sports. It's chaos.  Cheers.  -m&t #MikeAndTonyShow #Episode280 #Gout #Genetics #SportsScience #NolonRyan #BoJackson #LeBron #AthleteGenetics #CoachGuy #MikeTyson #BuiltDifferent #DNADontLie #HealthTalk #SportsDebate #BaseballIsUnderrated #Podcast #DenverPodcast #PodcastLife #FridayNight #Ep280

Episode 279: Bone Collectors, Buga Spheres & Summer Brain

Tony's officially on summer break and his brain is already untethered. This week Mike and Tony cover the important stuff: fresh ink (Goku, no titties), dying languages held together by two people who refuse to speak to each other, a caterpillar wearing its victims like a Halloween costume, a mysterious metal orb that may or may not respond to Sanskrit, and the slow death of the National Enquirer — because reality got weirder than they could. Also: knees, toothbrushes, and the terrifying math of how fast summer disappears. Episode 279. Fully in the bag.  Cheers!  m&t #MikeAndTonyShow #Episode279 #SummerBreak #Tattoos #DragonBallZ #WeirdScience #BugaSphere #BoneCollectorCaterpillar #DyingLanguages #Toxoplasma #WoollyMammoth #SpaceIsWeird #NationalEnquirer #ColoradoPodcast #ComedyPodcast #TrueWeirdness #OnceInABlueMoon #Podcast279 #FullyInTheBag

Episode 278: Robots, Reptilians, and 250 Million Escaped Bees

It's a rainy Friday in Colorado and Mike and Tony are in full "we needed the moisture" mode. This week the boys go deep on the invisible bee logistics network holding American agriculture together (yes, really), react to a robot getting its battery confiscated mid-flight, debate whether anyone actually needs a humanoid robot, and somehow end up on piranhas, flying fish, and the most cursed Olympic marathon in history. Plus: Trump's $1.78 billion slush fund, the death of the Colbert era, Trump phones that are basically gold Obama phones, Waymo taxis haunting an Atlanta cul-de-sac, and the neurological phenomenon that makes Pharrell Williams see colors when he hears music. Another week, another rabbit hole. Cheers! m&t
