Shamrock Rovers suffer back-to-back defeats ahead of Bohs

Episode 32 - Shamrock Rovers suffer back-to-back defeats ahead of Bohs Ryan Brennan looks back on a hugely frustrating night in Tallaght Stadium as Shamrock Rovers suffered a late 2-1 defeat against Sligo Rovers. The Hoops took the lead through an early Aaron Greene effort, which eventually went down as an own goal, but despite long periods of control, Rovers once again struggled to turn possession into clear-cut chances. The episode discusses the performances of Michael Noonan and Adam Brennan, the recurring lack of cutting edge in the final third, defensive lapses, and the dramatic late winner that condemned Rovers to their first home league defeat of the season. The podcast also gets into the growing debate surrounding the Republic of Ireland call-ups for Ed McGinty and Adam Brennan. With both players expected to miss upcoming Dublin derbies against Bohemians and St Patrick’s Athletic, questions are being asked about fixture scheduling, the impact on clubs, and the use of League of Ireland players at international level under Heimir Hallgrímsson. Finally, attention turns to Monday night’s derby away to Bohs in Dalymount Park. The episode previews a massive game for Rovers as they look to respond to back-to-back defeats, while also discussing the possibility that this could be the final league meeting between the two clubs in the current version of Dalymount. The Milltown Way is the independent Shamrock Rovers podcast covering all things Hoops. #SRFC

Disappointment in Dundalk

Episode 31 - Disappointment in Dundalk A busy week to discuss on Episode 31 of The Milltown Way as Ryan Brennan flies solo for this week’s show. First up, a look back at Shamrock Rovers’ frustrating 1-0 defeat away to Dundalk in Oriel Park. Despite periods of pressure and chances late on, the Hoops were left to reflect on another night where the end product just wasn’t there. We also react to the news that Ed McGinty and Adam Brennan have been named in the Republic of Ireland squad for upcoming friendlies against Qatar and Canada, and what that could mean for upcoming league fixtures against Bohs and St Patrick's Athletic. Finally, attention turns to next Friday’s meeting with Sligo Rovers in Tallaght Stadium, which will also see the club stage a special memorial event to honour supporters, players and club figures who have passed. We also advise all listeners to watch our exclusive interview with Robert Goggins, now live on YouTube. Subscribe, follow and share The Milltown Way across all platforms. ☘️ #SRFC #TheMilltownWay

Episode 30 - Sobowale's first as the Hoops lay down a marker After another big away night for Shamrock Rovers, the lads are back for Episode 30 of The Milltown Way. episode Four past Drogheda & momentum building artwork

Four past Drogheda & momentum building

This week, we’re looking back on a brilliant night in Tallaght as Shamrock Rovers produced one of their most complete attacking performances of the season, beating Drogheda United 4-1 under the lights. We break down the key moments from the game, the goals, the overall tempo of the performance, and why this felt like a real statement from the Hoops. Was this the attacking display supporters have been waiting for? Did Rovers finally show the killer instinct that has been missing in some recent games? And which players stood out on the night as momentum continues to build? We also discuss the bigger picture, what this result means in the context of the season, whether confidence is visibly growing in the squad, and if this could be a key moment as the fixtures continue to come thick and fast. Then comes a major announcement. After teasing it over the last week, we can now officially reveal that The Milltown Way will be sitting down with Robert Goggins for a special interview. Robert was involved during one of the most important and emotional periods in modern Rovers history, and next week we’ll be bringing supporters a proper, in-depth conversation around the Tallaght Stadium era, supporter action, the role of the 400 Club, and what it took to keep the club moving forward during uncertain times. We explain why we felt it was important to move beyond short clips and online reaction, and instead speak directly to people who lived through these moments firsthand.F inally, attention quickly turns west as Galway United await on Friday night. We preview what promises to be another tough away test, discuss Galway’s strengths, what kind of game Rovers can expect, possible team selection decisions, and what the Hoops need to do to make it three points on the road. As always, thank you for all the support, messages, comments, debate, and continued backing across our social channels and podcast platforms.Episode 29 is available now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music & YouTube.#ShamrockRovers #LOI #TheMilltownWay

Reaction, response, and three points in Tallaght

Episode 28 - Reaction, response, and three points in Tallaght This week, we kick things off by addressing the huge reaction to our recent social clip on the Thomas Davis and Tallaght Stadium story. What started as a short explainer sparked serious debate across Instagram, X, Facebook, TikTok and YouTube, with supporters of all ages getting in touch to share their memories, frustrations, and views on one of the most emotional chapters in modern Shamrock Rovers history. We discuss why we decided not to rush into a full deep dive just yet, why some of the criticism aimed our way was fair, and why it’s important to get stories like this right rather than simply react in the moment. We also reveal that we’ve lined up an interview next week with someone who has ample knowledge on the matter, who was directly involved during that period and can help bring real context, detail, and lived experience to the conversation. Then it’s back to the football, as we break down Friday night’s 1-0 win for Shamrock Rovers over Waterford FC at Tallaght Stadium. We look at the key moments from the game, the overall performance, standout players, tactical talking points, and whether this was a case of job done or whether Rovers should have put the game to bed earlier. We also discuss what the result means in the bigger picture of the season. Is momentum building again? Who stood out on the night? Are there still areas that need improving? And how important could these home points be heading into another busy run of fixtures? Finally, attention quickly turns to Monday night as Drogheda United come to Tallaght. We preview the challenge ahead, what kind of game Rovers can expect, possible team selection questions, and what the Hoops need to do to make it back-to-back wins. As always, thanks for all the support, comments, messages, and debate this week. Whether you agreed with us, challenged us, or shared your own memories, it all helps make The Milltown Way what it is.Available now on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Amazon Music and YouTube. #ShamrockRovers #LOI
