For those of you who may not remember, Shamima Begum fled to Syria to join ISIS at 15 with her two friends. Known by many as the 'Bethnal Green Girls.' In early 2019, Begum was circulating in the news when she tried to return to the UK after 4 years. Not long after her plea, she was stripped of her British citizenship. In this installment, we will be discussing how Begum was treated by the UK and what that says about our society.
