What We've Been Watching - Pretty Lethal, The Objective, Rental Family, 'Wuthering Heights'

For this week's episode, your four friends over on the Movie Mull have a brand new quartet of reviews for you: four films that you can watch now on streaming or physical media - hopefully helping you out when you are faced with the endless scroll of doom, searching for your next watch! First up, Neil has a review for the action thriller newly arrived on Prime Video: Pretty Lethal, followed by Justin telling us all about the overlooked (justly or unjustly) 2008 science fiction horror film directed by Daniel Myrick: The Objective.  Then, Richard catches one of 2026's January cinema releases and something our mulls were eagerly anticipating: starring Brendan Fraser and written and directed by Hikari, the comedy/drama Rental Family is available now on Disney Plus and Blu-Ray. Finally, Darren shares his thoughts on the latest adaptation of 'Wuthering Heights', this one in quotation marks which might suggest the subjective form of adaptation in this latest movie from writer and director, Emerald Fennel which stars Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.  It's available now on Blu-Ray and Sky Cinema. Movie Mistakes

This week on the Movie Mull, the team are discussing everyone's favourite movie mistakes.  Our host is Justin and he wanted to explore all of those moments in movies that were never meant to be there... and how - sometimes - they make a favourite film somehow even more special. Whether it's a member of the crew accidentally joining the scene (hmmm, who's that guy in the baseball cap in 14th Century Braveheart?); an anachronistic prop, costume or background detail (Who wore denim jeans in the coliseum of Ancient Rome?), or a complete lack of consistency in continuity (How do bullet holes appear before shots have been fired?).  What's your favourite movie error?  Listen in and then let us know...

What We've Been Watching - Scream 7, I Swear, Get Over It, Ghostlight

We're back with four more reviews for you this week to help you decide what you might (or might not!) want to watch...  First up, Justin is here with his review of Scream 7 - the latest in the Scream franchise this sees the return of the legendary Neve Campbell as well as original screenwriter Kevin Williamson. But is it a return to form for the franchise? After that, Richard tells us all about I Swear - the phenomenally well-reviewed film which tells the true story of John Davidson renowned for his advocacy for people with Tourette syndrome. Its now out on DVD and streaming on Netflix. Next, we have a very special guest this week while Neil is temporarily away on assignment, Amy takes us back to 2001 and the teen romantic comedy film Get Over It, loosely based on William Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream. And finally, Darren shares his thoughts on a film that he has been patiently waiting to see for a long time now: a critically acclaimed American drama film directed by Kelly O'Sullivan and Alex Thompson, Ghostlight is now available to stream online in the UK. Following last week's 200th episode, we are heading eagerly forward into the next 100... This week, our host is Richard and he wanted to start off this new stretch of episodes with something designed to make everyone feel great - the topic of Feel Good Movies. What is the movie that you go to when you need to escape? A movie that is guaranteed to bring comfort, joy, relief...  As always, before we get into the movies themselves, we spend some time defining exactly what Richard means by 'feel-good' movies!  How would you define a feel good movie? Episode 200! It's the nOscars (Special Episode recorded with Live Audience)

Episode 200 is here! Yes, after years of talking about movies together, the mulls have reached another milestone -200 episodes! And we've got plenty to talk about still.  For this very special episode, we gathered a live audience in order to hold our own nOscars awards show.  So what are the nOscars, you might ask? They are those infamous films, behind-the-scenes roles and performances that surely deserved an official Academy Award but were - for whatever reason - overlooked at the time.   Each of the four mulls brought along their suggestions for films, directors and actors that should have won across 6 categories and then debated - with the help of our lovely audience - who should take home the special - belated - nOscar.   Listen in - and then find us online to join the debate!
