Description

Hello everyone! You guys are about to meet my twin, people think we look a like ( we do not see it ) but she's also my twin verbally. We bounce off each other so easily and our humor is toooo alike. As usual the intro /outros is a piece of myself I want to share. Staring with the intro, I was singing a Somali song that stuck in my head. This came from a video of Somali ladies making a traditional mat ( as explain on waaberi phone on social media). They state to say, "women who skillfully weave these mats coming together...also foster a sense of unity and shared experiences". The outro is a sung by caasha abdiraxman the song is called Cunaabi, check out [waaberi phone] for more.

THE SISTER BY CHOICE NOMAD

Hello everyone! To start off, I wanted to explain the intros and outros for this episode. The first audio clip features 'Wile Wile'—a song I’ve been completely obsessed with lately. You can find it on YouTube [https://youtu.be/uVTH_R9hH8g?si=Nc7XR6NdF5rs7RDv [https://youtu.be/uVTH_R9hH8g?si=Nc7XR6NdF5rs7RDv]]; that's actually just a recording of me studying and tapping along to the beat. The second clip is from a Somali dance called Buranbur, captured right as I jumped into the circle! For the third intro, you’ll hear this episode’s guest and me out at the mall practicing our accents. Lastly, you'll hear my dad on the phone on Eid morning; it is a tradition in our family to call and wish everyone an 'Eid Mubarak.' As for the outros, we start with a friend wishing everyone a Happy New Year. That is followed by an audio message from a close friend reminding me not to give up—because we all know school is hard! Finally, I’ve included a bit more Buranbur, as it’s currently my favorite cultural dance. Thank you so much for tuning in!
