Captain Karen Ruth - Delta Air Lines’ longest-tenured serving female captain sits down with host Kristine to reflect on her historic and distinguished 40+ year career.  Upon her retirement, Karen was 17 out of 17,200 pilots in seniority.  They discuss her final flight from Dublin to Minneapolis on April 18th, 2026.  Karen shares her origin story - how two Northwest Airline pilots in her Burnsville, MN neighborhood recognized “the right stuff” in a 15 year old and mentored her.  She discusses the responsibility of commanding 300 passengers and navigating some of the world’s most challenging runways.  Karen celebrates her two daughters Kate and Molly, who are both now commercial pilots.  They discuss and reflect on the legacy she has built through mentorship, training other pilots, humility and the power of saying yes to opportunities! Early on in this episode, Elsie shares about how her view of the Bible was changed by a woman she met in Norway, which led her to a continued interest in knowing Jesus through His word. She speaks about how much discipleship matters and how it can change a person’s trajectory. Later on Kristine and Elsie talk about the difference of abiding vs. striving with the key being, “whose strength am I working from?"  They end the episode talking about the authority we have in Christ to not be ruled by fear and celebrating everyday ordinary life!  Elsie is an adventure seeker at heart and believes life to the fullest is found in life with God. She has had a number of meaningful experiences in her young adult life such as studying at Wheaton College, running a youth hostel in Norway, living in Germany and Austria through the ministry of Torchbearers International, and working in the Christian Nonprofit world. She is excited to share the gospel with unbelievers and dedicate her life to sharing the good news of Jesus! He is the co-founder and executive director of Love2Hope, a family non-profit bringing awareness to human trafficking across America. He is a trained communicator through the Dale Carnegie Institute and an Ambassador of Hope with Shared Hope International. Sean is a husband and father of three, currently serving as executive director of West Central MN Youth for Christ. He has worked in the fitness industry for 20+ years and loves to see people healthy, active, and living life on purpose. Kay is the co-founder and executive director of Love2Hope, who works with audiences across America to understand human trafficking and their role in fighting it. She is a trained Ambassador of Hope with Shared Hope International, an experienced educator, and a national speaker who has presented to thousands of people in 27 states. Kay holds a degree in Education from Minot State University.
