Description

Trigger warning: this episode briefly mentions the words 'school shootings', but does not delve into the topic. Hi everyone! This episode features a conversation with Alice, a friend of mine from ye olde school days. We chat about very different university experiences (despite going to the same university), studying abroad in America, finding work during the pandemic, our admiration of teachers, how factors like stable income and nice coworkers affect our decision to stay or leave a job, the importance of critical thinking, and finally - our shared passion of learning. I hope you enjoy it! N.B. Certain names are beeped out for privacy reasons.

11. Mabli: Actress, Musician, Receptionist, Barista, Nanny

I recently had a fab conversation with the lovely Mabli; and actress from London. We chatted about finding work after covid, what it means to be good at your craft, and whether there is a 'correct' way to do things in the performing arts world. We chat about building the lives that we want, and what getting there actually entails (mainly a lot of hard work and patience!), and we ponder if anyone really does genuinely have a 'laissez-faire' attitude or is it all just smoke and mirrors? This is the Random Route Podcast; a podcast which explores the idea that it's ok for life not to have a straight trajectory, and that most people feel as if they are on a very 'random route', as their life goes on. I aim to have enlightening conversations with people who also identify with the feeling of having no linear path in their lives, and chatting about the jobs, adventures and lessons learnt along the way. I hope you enjoy it!
