WEBSITE: HuskerFansinMT.com In this episode we update Husker fans on the latest Nebraska Football News and review last week's 28-21 win over interim HC Tim Skipper and the UCLA Bruins. In his first start, TJ Lateef went 13 of 15 passing for 205 yards and 3 touchdowns, along with 31 rushing yards. His first four drives resulted in TDs. Lateef did not throw an incompletion until the fourth quarter and he had more TD passes than incompletions. Lateef was named the BIG10 Co-Freshman of the week for the victory. RB Emmett Johnson had 129 rushing yards on 28 carries and 103 receiving yards with 3 touchdowns. He was the first Husker RB to rush for 100 yards and have 100 yards receiving in the same game. He was named a Maxwell Award Semifinalist and the National Player of the Week. The 2025 Nebraska football campaign began at Arrowhead Stadium where the Huskers defeated HC Scott Satterfield and the Cincinnati Bearcats 20 to 17. Since the opener, the Huskers have defeated Akron 68-0; HCU 59-7; lost to Michigan 30-27; defeated Michigan State 38-27, defeated Maryland 34-31, lost to Minnesota 24-6, defeated Northwestern 28-21, lost to USC 21-17, and defeated UCLA 28-21. Defensive Coordinator John Butler, Offensive Coordinator Dana Holgorsen, Special Teams Coordinator Mike Ekeler, and Associate Head Coach Phil Snow are working with HC Matt Rhule to improve the team throughout the season. Nebraska Head Coach Matt Rhule's contract extension - Is our Halloween nightmare over?

Happy Halloween Husker Fans!! Following a win at Northwestern, the University of Nebraska extended football Head Coach Matt Rhule’s contract through the 2032 season. The deal reportedly increased the buyout from $5 million to $15 million dollars. How do you feel Husker fans? Is the $10 million increase in the buyout enough to keep the wicked witch (in this case Penn State) at bay or will we find ourselves in her caldron at the end of this season despite the extension? Feeling Confident? As Lee Corso would say - NOT SO FAST MY FRIEND: In 2019 after beating Iowa State, Baylor University extended Head Coach Matt Rhule’s contract through March of 2028. In this video, we compare what he said at his University of Baylor press conference announcing his extension to what he said this week at the press conference announcing the extension at Nebraska. Husker fans, is our Halloween nightmare over? We at the Husker Fans in Montana Podcast hope it is and that Matt Rhule remains at Nebraska. However, we cannot fault Coach Rhule if he returns to the university he played at and has loved since birth. While the additional $10 million is a lot to us, we don’t believe it will be a roadblock to Penn State if they want Matt Rhule as their next head coach. Maybe the best thing is to relax and enjoy the rest of the season. Perhaps that is the purpose of this extension all along. Let’s just not fall into the false sense of security that we will not end up in the old witch’s caldron at the end of the year. "Those who forget history are condemned to repeat it" is a saying Husker fans should keep in mind.
