Carrot Zucchini Bread, Welcome Home, and Charges and Precepts...Translation Please

WARNING** This episode contains information that may be sensitive for some listeners regarding the violence of war and the toll it takes on our veterans. Is there anything more delicious than a nice slice of warm (or cold) zucchini bread? Rachael is baking up a storm and shared her recipe with us. Michelle shares her experience meeting a Vietnam veteran while on her camping trip and we talk about those moments where the Spirit calls us to reach out to the people around us. Finally, we talk about the charges and precepts referred to in the bible. What does this mean? We look it up and try to break it down. Join us in the chaos! Here is the recipe for the Carrot Zucchini Bread that Rachael made. She doubled the recipe to make four loaves, and edited it only using one and a half teaspoons baking powder, and added 2 cups shredded carrots and 3 cups of shredded zucchini. She was able to make amazing muffins, mini muffins, mini loaves, large loaves, and a Bundt cake. https://www.allrecipes.com/recipe/6698/moms-zucchini-bread/ This is a public episode. Tempting God, Practicing Delight in the Difficult Moments, and Prayerful Bookends

We all want answers without waiting. We ask God time and time again, why? Is it time now? Are we there yet? Just like a parent will tell a child "not yet" or "be patient", sometimes we need to accept the "not yet" because we may not be ready for the answer or even like the answer at all. Practicing delight in less than delightful times is not easy. We discuss how changing our negative reactions to difficult moments can actually help us neurologically. Lastly, beginning and ending our day with prayer, like bookends, helps to center our lives around Christ and grow spiritually. Tough Parenting Decisions, Continuing our Spiritual Journey One Step at a Time, and a Lesson in the Meaning Behind Bless Your Heart.

As parents, we never realize what we actually sign up for until we are in the moment. Sure we all know that there will be diapers to be changes, illnesses to overcome, teenage hormones etc...There are however, some moments that "they" just don't prepare us for, like when you are needed in multiple places for your adult children. How should we prioritize which child we run to? We continue our journey through "The Spiritual Combat" and discuss the difficulties in our efforts to strive towards our heavenly home. Sometimes...we just want a break. Finally, many people wonder why people from the south say "Bless your Heart". The mystery behind that, and other southern sayings, is revealed here! Self-Improvement, Hero Cats, and Functional Medicine.

Change doesn't come easy for everyone. There are those of us, speaking for myself, that take change while kicking and screaming. Not that we don't know that change is necessary, it's simply the establishing of new habits and a "new normal". Speaking spiritually, and practically, the good news is, whether its a big change or a little one, taking one step at a time will almost always guarantee success (and yes, there are exceptions to every rule). This week, we bring back pet stories! My sister shares how her cats potentially saved their lives. Lastly. for those who may be hesitant to seek medical advice, functional medicine may be an option for you. This is a public episode. Throughout our lives, we all strive to do better...regardless of the reason. In our journey, it is inevitable that we fail at some point. Listen in for more on our reading journey through The Spiritual Combat. WARNING emotions run high in this episode. We receive news that one of our family friends has passed and this leads to some of us sharing about our seasons of loss. Our adventure in surrender continues! This is a public episode.
