Episode 6: Migrant Experiences of Anti-Social Behaviour in Yorkshire with Kirsty Cameron

This podcast explores new research by Kirsty Cameron and Jack Liuta, drawing on their work with migration.    Kirsty’s research focuses on understanding experiences of antisocial behaviour and the related interventions, considering how intersecting identities and experiences of gender, migration, ethnicity, disability, and/or poverty can structure these experiences. Kirsty’s interest in this area was prompted by her background as a social housing practitioner.Find out more about Kirsty on her LBU profile [https://www.leedsbeckett.ac.uk/staff/dr-kirsty-cameron/].   Jack's research interests include, among other areas, participatory research with displaced populations and refugees across Africa and Europe. Over the last four years, he has been involved as a community researcher in migration research with various migrant communities in the Yorkshire and Humber region of the UK through Migration Yorkshire. Episode 5: Time Expansion Experiences with Steve Taylor

In this episode we talk to Dr Steve Taylor [https://www.leedsbeckett.ac.uk/staff/dr-steve-taylor/] about his book Time Expansion Experiences [https://www.stevenmtaylor.com/books/time-expansion-experiences/]. He tells us about his research into the unusual states of consciousness when time appears to slow down. These often happen during life-threatening events but are also experienced by elite athletes and in meditation or spiritual encounters. Steve has gathered data from many people who have experienced significant changes to their perception of time and identified some striking consistencies. Many people, for instance, find they have remarkable abilities to achieve complex thought processes and sets of tasks during very short periods of time. You can read more about Steve's work on his website [https://www.stevenmtaylor.com/] and you can read his regular column in Psychology Today [https://www.psychologytoday.com/gb/contributors/steve-taylor-phd].
