About The Spiritual Realest

I was raised Christian but I have decided to take my relationship with God into my own hands and out of the contructs of what I was taught. The Spiritual Realest is a space for honest conversations about what it really looks like to grow, question, and stay grounded in your spiritual journey. No performance and no pretending, just real life, real challenges, and real alignment. If you are learning how to trust yourself, unlearn what no longer serves you, and live with intention, this is for you. I just want to set the captives free!

Letting Go of Labels - Episode 10

This episode is deeply personal. I’m talking about what happens when God forces you to release a version of yourself that once brought you success, validation, purpose, and applause. For me, that was owning a restaurant that became a cornerstone in the community before COVID changed everything overnight. I share the grief of losing something we built with our own hands, the pressure of carrying labels that no longer fit, and the internal battle of deciding whether to keep chasing a title or finally choose myself. This conversation is for anyone struggling to let go of who they used to be, especially when that version of them was admired, successful, or deeply tied to their identity. We’re unpacking the weight of labels, burnout, self-worth, purpose, capitalism, relationships, and what it really means to surrender the need to constantly produce in order to feel valuable. You are more than your title. More than your productivity. More than what people clap for. Sometimes the most aligned thing you can do is let go. I’m Scarlett Draught, Heavenly minded but earthly good. Discernment is NOT Fear - Episode 9

For a long time, I thought discernment meant constantly being on guard. Watching people closely. Feeling every shift in energy. Preparing myself for disappointment before it even arrived. But over time, God showed me that discernment is not fear. In this episode, I open up about what it means to truly evaluate the spirit instead of reacting from anxiety, confusion, or emotional overwhelm. I share personal experiences that taught me how to trust what I feel without allowing fear to control me, including moments where my spirit immediately knew something wasn’t right long before my mind could explain it. We talk about intuition, spiritual boundaries, emotional awareness, peace, clarity, protection, and the difference between discernment and paranoia. I also share some of the spiritual practices and tools that help me realign myself when life feels chaotic, including prayer, Psalms, Reiki, rosemary, and intentional self-reflection. I truly believe many of us were taught how to recognize danger, but never taught how to recognize peace. And sometimes God is not speaking through fear at all. Sometimes He’s speaking through stillness, clarity, and calm. Discernment does not always tell you what to run from. Sometimes it tells you what you can finally walk into without fear. I Prayed My Gifts Away - Episode 8

In this deeply personal episode of The Spiritual Realest, I open up about what it felt like growing up with spiritual gifts while carrying the pressure of being a minister’s child, battling guilt, hiding my sexuality, and trying to survive under the weight of religion and expectation. For years, I believed I had to choose between being authentic and being connected to God. I share my experiences with prophecy, spiritual encounters, praying my gifts away, and the emotional exhaustion that came from constantly feeling like I had to be “on” for everyone around me while secretly struggling within myself. This episode is about what happens when guilt becomes heavier than your gifts. It’s about the moment I realized that my spirituality and my authenticity were never supposed to be enemies. I talk about suppressing parts of myself to feel accepted, the freedom I found outside of religious shame, and the powerful realization that my gifts never actually left me — they were simply waiting for me to return to myself fully and honestly. I also share spiritual practices and tools that helped me reconnect with my highest self, including lavender rituals, spiritual cleansing, and transformational healing practices that supported me on my journey. If you’ve ever felt trapped between who you are and who you were taught you had to be in order to deserve God’s love, this conversation is for you. I’m Scarlet Drought. Earthly good and heavenly minded.  The Spiritual Realist is edited and produced by Organized Movements [https://organizedmovements.com/] Recorded at Privicast Studio [https://privicaststudio.com/] Subscribe on YouTube @thespiritualrealest [https://www.youtube.com/@TheSpiritualRealest] Follow on Instagram @thespiritualrealest [https://www.instagram.com/thespiritualrealest]

episode Grief Exists Outside of Death — Part 2 EPISODE 7 artwork

Grief Exists Outside of Death — Part 2 EPISODE 7

Grief doesn’t always come from loss in the way we were taught to recognize it. Sometimes it shows up in the quiet spaces… in friendships that fade without conflict, in identities we outgrow, and in versions of ourselves we had to release to become who we are today. In this episode, I open up about the subtle forms of grief we don’t always acknowledge—the kind that doesn’t come with closure, but still leaves an imprint. From seasonal friendships to personal transformation, and even the deeply emotional process of redefining my spiritual identity, this conversation is about recognizing what we’ve lost… even when it wasn’t taken from us. I share my journey through change, including the grief of letting go of who I once was, the confidence I carried, and the beliefs I was raised in. This is not about regret—it’s about honesty. It’s about understanding that growth requires release, and that grief is not always a sign that something went wrong. Sometimes it’s simply a sign that something mattered. If you’ve ever felt the weight of change, questioned who you’re becoming, or struggled to let go of what once felt like home, this episode is for you. Grief comes in all shapes—physical, emotional, and spiritual. And if we don’t take the time to acknowledge it, it has a way of living in the body. Take a moment with me to breathe, to release, and to recognize that healing doesn’t always come from moving on—it comes from allowing yourself to feel. episode Questioning Your Religion Might Get You Closer to God - Episode 6 artwork

Questioning Your Religion Might Get You Closer to God - Episode 6

In this episode of The Spiritual Realest, I take you into a deeply personal and honest conversation about what it really means to question your faith and why that doesn’t make you less connected to God, but possibly closer. I begin by grounding us in intention and energy, creating space for clarity, truth, and alignment. From there, I open up about my journey as a pastor’s kid, raised in the church, deeply rooted in Christianity, and fully committed to knowing God. But everything shifted when I was introduced to the idea that there may be more than one way to connect with Him. That moment did not shake my belief in God. It challenged the system I was taught. This episode explores what happens when the foundation you have always known starts to expand. What do you do when your spirit is curious, but your upbringing tells you to stay still. What do you do when the math is not making sense and your questions will not go away. I walk through that tension, the confusion, the fear, and the curiosity, and how it ultimately led me into a more personal and intimate relationship with God. We talk about the difference between questioning God and questioning the system you learned Him through. We explore why spiritual curiosity is not rebellion but growth. I share how important it is to test and try the spirit in every space, not just within religion. We also discuss letting go of fear and allowing it to push you toward deeper understanding, and the truth that God is not confined to one path, one practice, or one system. If you have ever felt guilty for asking questions, if you have ever wondered if there is more, or if you have ever felt your spirit pulling you in a direction you did not fully understand, this episode is for you. This week, I challenge you to approach God differently. Ask. Seek. Be open. Trust that the same God you have always known is big enough to meet you wherever you are and guide you to exactly where you are meant to be. Asking questions does not mean you are losing your faith. It might mean you are deepening it.
