Hey there!!! Thanks for being patient with me the past couple weeks as I didn’t share episodes on my regularly scheduled program. I shared two questions from the Heidelberg catechism and I encourage you to read this slowly and see the proof texts! Q & A 1 Q. What is your only comfort in life and in death? A. Episode 33- Why catechisms are important?

Today I’m sharing our reasons for who we do a simple question and answer catechism with our kids. here is the question I mentioned in the podcast for an example Heidelberg catechism Q & A 21: Question: What is true faith? Answer: True faith is not only a sure knowledge by which I hold as true all that God has revealed to us in Scripture; (1 John 17:3, 17; Heb. 11:1-3; James 2:19) it is also a wholehearted trust ( Rom. 4:18-21; 5:1; 10:10; Heb. 4:14-16) which the Holy Spirit creates in me (Matt. 16:15-17; John 3:5; Acts 16:14) by the gospel, (Rom. 1:16; 10:17; 1 Cor. 1:21) that God has freely granted, not only to others but also to me (Gal. 2:20) forgiveness of sins, eternal righteousness, and salvation (Rom. 1:17; Heb. 10:10) These are gifts of sheer grace, granted solely by Christ’s merit ( Rom. 3:21-26; Gal. 2:16; Eph. 2:8-10 The catechism we use with my kids can be found here: The Illustrated Catechism for Boys and Girls https://press.founders.org/shop/the-illustrated-catechism-for-boys-and-girls/?srsltid=AfmBOorg6yZ5a2HVb8xbge2DPgn76JGvBnXtcVsCbMAtl5gChNQQB5rU Thanks so much for listening!
