Jenny Martin: "How an Eating Disorder, Heartbreak & the 9-5p led her to become a Poetry author"

In this Episode I sat and chatted with Miss Jenny Martin.  You may have heard her on 90.1 KKFI or seen her around Kansas City doing book readings to promote her new poetry book, Emotionally Bankrupt…a book in response to resignation, addiction, heartbreak and growth shared in the light of poetry.   It’s here where Jenny was vulnerable & brave enough to primarily talk about the addiction chapter of the book, where we get to learn about Jenny’s story, and that’s her story about living with and through her eating disorder and how she found self love again!  ….plus she worked on a cruise ship, how fun is that?! Megh Knappenberger: "The Story Behind the Painting"

Kristen Rock Chouinard: "Pushed into a New Life Purpose"

In this episode I sat to chat with Kristen Rock Chouinard.  She's as real as it gets.  Kristen is a Kansas City based SELF TAUGHT abstract artist. She runs a successful art business where she sells to both individuals and businesses, and you may have also seen her on the Better KC Morning Show on KCTV.  However, she's not always been an artist and actually had to intention of becoming one.   We talk about how life sometimes makes decisions to for you to push you to a new life purpose that better suits you in that phase of your life.  Kristen actually started off in Marketing, where she spent 10 years working 80 hour a week, and after putting her blood sweat and tears into it, she was fired one day.  Rude, right? Using painting as a form of healing through that tough time, she realized she felt physically, emotionally and mentally better and ultimately decided to stick with it.  And look at her now!  Kirsten takes us through ending what she's known for 10 years and starting new again.... Sierra Winter - "Jewelry Designer: The 1st Challenging Year"

In this Episode, I sit down with Sierra Winter, Designer and Owner of Sierra Winter Jewelry.  She had the passion, the drive and all the signs telling her to start her own jewelry line...but right after quitting her 9-5 job as a jewelry designer for a company and taking the leap to start her own business, the challenges started rolling in one after another. The ones that make you question "Is this the right time? should I still do this?". She talks about all the of family challenges she faced during the first year, how she personally swerved through them and why she kept such a sharp stubborn (her words!) focus on her goal to keep Sierra Winter Jewelry running.
