The Synced Society
In this episode, I sit down with my dear friend Kalindi Cordero — a woman who lost her father to non-Hodgkin's lymphoma at 19 and her mother to stage four breast cancer seven months later. Who called off an eight-year engagement and had to rediscover herself from scratch. Who walked into a salsa class terrified, couldn't look at herself in the mirror, and made a promise to show up every single week anyway. This episode is about grief. It's about healing. And it's about the joy you find when you finally stop abandoning yourself. --- In this episode: * Kalindi's grief journey and what it means to be an eldest daughter who becomes a caretaker for her parents as a child * The grief nobody talks about: calling off an eight-year engagement and why that kind of loss can sometimes feel harder than physical loss because the person is still out there living their life * What dance taught her about surrender, trust, and letting go of control especially as a woman who had been in her masculine for years * The PCOS diagnosis at the end of 2023 and finding community through shared experience * What bringing it back to joy looks like: bikes, the sun on your face, music loud enough to feel it in your chest, and the friendships that hold you through all of it --- Kalindi's wisdom drop: You can't do it all and you can't save everybody. Take time to sit with yourself and figure out what needs have gone unmet for so long. Fight for the little tidbits of joy — whatever they look like. And celebrate every win, no matter how small. --- Connect with Kalindi: Substack: The Lumen Room [https://substack.com/@daughterofthesungod] Pedal the Pacific [https://www.pedalthepacific.org/] --- Connect with TSS: Instagram: @joinsyncedsociety [https://www.instagram.com/joinsyncedsociety/] Website: syncedsociety.com [https://www.syncedsociety.com/] (Join the email list!)
