Episode Five: The Minnesota Melee

One Dollar Hamms... One Disgruntled, Down-On-His-Luck Mascot... Thousands of Intoxicated, Ruthless, Rioting Fans... This year marks the twenty-fifth anniversary of one of the most tragic events in Minnesota sports history. On February 13th, 1995, thousands of fans flooded into the Target Center for what was advertised as Dollar Hamm's Night, in a last second promotional attempt to pack the arena and boost the dwindling attendance numbers of the struggling Minnesota Timberwolves basketball team. What started as just another innocent night of watching a sorry excuse for professional basketball ended in gunfire, looting, hundreds wounded, and dozens dead. The Tapline Podcast interviewed several key eye witnesses of that infamous night to bring you the true story of what took place the night of... THE MINNESOTA MELEE!
