A Letter To My Dad

Coming from a war-torn country and surviving in the US is a tough journey. Starting from scratch for everything. Culture, Food, Loneliness, Academic Stress, Language, and Financial. This episode is about a student talking to her father about her daily life while she was struggling in the US. Her father passed away 12 years ago. She didn't have a chance to talk to her family like the others because of the 12-hour time difference; when she's back from work or study at night, her mother is just waking up and doing home chores, and she doesn't want to add to her stress about her struggles while she is in the country, stressing under political circumstances in Burma. And she doesn't have anyone to talk to about how she felt in another country or to ask for suggestions like the others from their father, because she is the one who studies abroad in her family. So, she wrote a sound poem for her father about her experiences in New York. You can listen to a sound letter from a daughter who is staying and trying to survive in another country to her father, who passed away 12 years ago.

To Here or To Go

Here in the U.S., when you order at a restaurant, they will ask whether you want it "to go " or to eat there. If you say to go, you will get your meal in a box; if you say to stay, they will prepare you to dine in the restaurant; either way, you will get the meal. Likewise, people leaving the country in 2021 carried a lot of emotional pain because of what they had seen, whether they chose to leave or stay. had left behind, and I was one of them before I left. I saw so many things happen to me and the others around me. In this episode, you will listen to what I saw and what happened in the tragic moment called " The Coup in Myanmar". In Act 2, John expressed his uncertainty about the US after DHS revoked TPS for Burmese people and announced that the country was safe to return to. Is it true? Listen to this episode!
