About The werecolumbo’s Podcast

WereColumbo is a Columbo rewatch podcast where we revisit every case from the classic detective series starring Peter Falk and answer the question television history somehow forgot to ask. What if Columbo were also a werewolf? Each episode we recap and discuss a classic installment of Columbo, breaking down the mystery, the villains, and the wonderfully elaborate murder plans. We also debate the single best moment in the episode for Columbo to transform into a werewolf, because once you start thinking about it, it becomes surprisingly hard to ignore. Along the way, you will also get a front-row seat to our marriage, which means tangents, mild disagreements, and strong opinions about 1970s television. If you love Columbo, cozy mysteries, classic TV, or the idea of a rumpled detective occasionally becoming a werewolf, you are in the right place.

WereColumbo EP2: Death Lends a Paw | Death Lends a Hand Recap

This week, A.J. and Heather return to the world of Lieutenant Columbo to discuss the Season 1 classic Death Lends a Hand. Before getting to the case, the hosts dive into a birthday road-rage incident, the strange psychology of yelling at people from inside cars, and whether we'd all be a little kinder if we had to walk everywhere. Want to jump straight to the episode discussion?   🕵️ Columbo recap begins at 00:05:55:21 Then it's on to private investigator Brimmer, blackmail, beachside murder, and one of Columbo's earliest battles of wits. WereColumbo EP1: Murder by the Howl | Murder by the Book Recap

In the premiere episode of WereColumbo, a Columbo recap podcast, we revisit the very first episode of Columbo, Murder by the Book. We break down the pilot mystery starring the wonderfully smug Jack Cassidy, talk through the crime step by step, and admire just how confident this murderer is despite making some… questionable decisions. Along the way we get into mystery-writing partnerships, suspicious champagne toasts, grocery-store alibis, and the many little details that make this episode such a great introduction to Columbo’s world.    But WereColumbo isn’t just another Columbo podcast. Each episode we revisit a classic case and tackle the question television history somehow failed to ask: when exactly should Lieutenant Columbo turn into a werewolf? As we revisit Murder by the Book, we debate the best possible moment for the transformation while appreciating Columbo’s famously rumpled investigative style and the cozy mystery formula that made the series a classic.   This episode contains explicit language and occasional strong opinions about 1970s mystery writers.
