About The Whole Testament

Ever wondered why the Old Testament and New Testament are so different? As modern day believers do we really even need the Old Testament? This Podcast is designed to help bridge the gap between the Old and the New, and to help you see how connected they really are. Our goal is to put the two "Testaments" back together, so that we can get the whole story of what God is doing in our lives and in our world.

Episode 144 | Oaths, Slaps & Enemies

This week, Jesus raises the bar for what it means to keep our word, to face attack, and to deal with our enemies. It isn't about who we are but who we represent and that makes all the difference. Hebrews 5 describes believers who are still like infants because they are unfamiliar with the “Oracles of God,” a phrase most often connected to the Torah—the instruction God gave His people. At The Whole Testament, we recognize that many of us today are also “baby believers,” still learning the deeper truths of God’s Word. Our desire is to grow in maturity by learning to “eat” solid spiritual food. This is the heartbeat behind our podcast. We want to engage Scripture in meaningful ways that help us grow. Some episodes offer brief reflections meant to spark fresh ways of thinking. Others take a deeper look at the Scriptures, inviting thoughtful study and reflection. Finally, we share conversations focused on how we can live out what we’ve learned by talking with people who are practicing these truths in their daily lives. Our aim is simple: to pursue God’s Word with depth, understanding, and a desire to live it out faithfully.

Episode 141 | Exceeding Righteousness

In this episode, we look at the way Jesus fulfilled the Law and the Prophets, their connection to Heaven and Earth, as well as the connection of the Law and Prophets to the Kingdom of heaven. We also begin to see our need for exceeding righteousness. Episode 140 | You Are

In this episode, we look at two statements Jesus makes to the people listening on the mountainside and to us today. He looks at us and says, "You are...". What do these two "you are" statements mean and how do they setup what comes next? We’ll unpack that together.
