Alcohol & Holidays: To Drink or Not To Drink? | Episode 40 Unsoberly Sober Podcast

In this heartfelt and empowering episode of *The Unsoberly Sober Show*, we tackle the ever-relevant question: Should you drink during the holidays? With the season of celebration upon us, I delve into the complex dynamics of alcohol, family gatherings, and the often-overlooked marketing influences shaping our choices. I start by arming you with awareness—alcohol advertising creates idyllic holiday narratives that rarely match reality. These images can influence decisions and heighten pressures, so I encourage listeners to look past the glossy propaganda. Drawing from my personal experiences, I open up about how drinking marred some of my most precious holiday moments with loved ones I can no longer share time with. I share these memories to inspire gratitude and a shift in focus—cherishing the present over seeking solace in the bottle. Finally, I provide actionable strategies for my sober-curious listeners. From creating healthy routines that keep your mindset positive, to fostering gratitude and connection, I outline ways to navigate the season while prioritizing your mental and emotional well-being. Whether you’re reevaluating your relationship with alcohol or looking for a way to infuse your holiday season with joy and intention, this episode offers the perspective shifts and tools to help you make choices that truly serve you. Tune in to discover how to rewrite your holiday story with clarity, gratitude, and purpose. #alcoholfreeliving #HealthyHolidayMindset #SoberHolidays 💪 Start the Course & Community Today ➔ https://www.magnifypw.com/magnify-method-details 👩‍🏫 Want to Quit One on One With Maggie? ➔ https://www.magnifypw.com/applications 🎁 Get Your Gift! ➔ https://www.magnifypw.com/cali-sober 🥗 Your Nutrition Guides ➔ https://www.magnifypw.com/nutrition ━━━━━━━━━━━━━ More helpful tips on social: 📱 TikTok ➔ https://www.tiktok.com/@magnifymaggiej 📸 IG ➔ https://www.instagram.com/magnifymaggie/ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ✅ Like and share if you got any value out of this or know someone who could use this information. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━

How to Think Differently to Drink Differently Or Never Again

In this episode of *The Unsoberly Sober Show*, I dive deep into the mindset shifts that allow us to fundamentally change our relationship with alcohol. If you’re looking to break the cycle of drinking by altering the way you *think*, this episode is for you. We start with three powerful questions from Dr. Wayne Dyer, designed to bring awareness to the significance of focusing on what’s *good*, rather than just what’s true. This subtle shift reveals how our thoughts are indeed the "ancestors" of our actions, influencing our behaviors and shaping our outcomes. Research shows that our repeated thoughts impact not just our mental framework but even our neural pathways, turning thoughts into beliefs that inform our habits and, ultimately, our lives. Studies in cognitive psychology, for instance, illustrate that visualizing a desired outcome can positively affect performance and motivation, making a case for rethinking how we approach sobriety. Next, I explore Abraham Maslow's concepts of deficiency motivation and growth motivation. Deficiency motivation centers on fulfilling perceived lacks (like using alcohol as a coping mechanism), which often results in exhaustion and burnout. Growth motivation, on the other hand, is a drive toward self-actualization—pushing beyond basic needs to develop and express one’s fullest potential. When we focus on growth, we tap into a powerful intrinsic motivation that’s more sustainable than mere "willpower." We close the episode by distinguishing between the willpower needed to resist drinking and the higher faculty of *free will*. Willpower, often fueled by deficiency motivation, quickly depletes. But by engaging free will through growth motivation, we can focus on long-term, positive thoughts anchored in what is good. When we make this shift, we find that changing our drinking habits becomes less about restriction and more about expansion, creating a life that feels so full that alcohol loses its allure. Tune in to this transformative episode to uncover the keys to thinking—and drinking—differently. Plus, get ready to explore the empowering mindset techniques that set the stage for a life of authentic freedom. #mindset #sobertribe #soberinspiration 💪 Start the Course & Community Today ➔ https://www.magnifypw.com/magnify-method-details 👩‍🏫 Want to Quit One on One With Maggie?

Mental Health Hack: The Green Bush Phenomenon | Episode 38 Unsoberly Sober Podcast

In this transformative episode of *The Unsoberly Sober Show*, I’m joined by Nicky as we unpack Dr. Gabor Maté’s intriguing “Green Bush Phenomenon,” a concept that highlights how we often react not to people’s words, but to what those words trigger within us—our deepest insecurities and wounds.Together, we explore our own experiences of internalizing hurtful comments, revealing how our perceptions can distort reality. We also dig into the powerful practice of reframing these interpretations, offering listeners a way to develop emotional resilience and self-esteem. This episode isn’t about sobriety directly, but it’s a must-listen for anyone looking to reduce stress and let go of unnecessary grief. With this simple mental health hack, you can stop taking things so personally and unlock a new sense of peace and self-empowerment.#mindset #mentalhealth #depression 💪 Start the Course & Community Today ➔ https://www.magnifypw.com/magnify-method-details 👩‍🏫 Want to Quit One on One With Maggie?

Liquid Courage: Why Are You So Inhibited? | Episode 37 Unsoberly Sober Podcast

In this eye-opening episode of The Unsoberly Sober Show, I'm joined by my honorary co-host Nicky as we dive into the psychology behind “liquid courage.” Ever wonder what’s holding you back without alcohol? Using insights from Maxwell Maltz's Psycho-Cybernetics, we examine five core inhibitors, from perfectionism and people-pleasing to unresolved stress. We unpack how these learned inhibitions feed into the need for alcohol, while also outlining how unblocking these barriers can reveal a new, empowered version of yourself. Sober October is Over: What Next? | Episode 36 Unsoberly Sober Podcast

In this episode, I dive into the pros and cons of popular sober-challenge months like Sober October, Dry January, and Dry July. I share my personal journey, including vulnerable stories of how I finally succeeded (kinda!) during Dry January 2020, which led to lasting change. Before that, my Dry Januarys and Dry Julys, I was just counting down the days until I could drink again. I emphasize that “time doesn’t heal all, it’s what you do with that time.” The key is using these 30 days to change your beliefs around alcohol, not just temporarily removing it. I explain how delving into personal development, fitness, nutrition, and entrepreneurship helped me shift my mindset and build new habits. Ultimately, I encourage listeners to extend their sober experience beyond just a month to make real, lasting changes. Listen in for practical insights on transforming your approach to sobriety, not just surviving it. #SoberLifestyle #MindfulSobriety #LastingChange 💪 Start the Course & Community Today ➔ https://www.magnifypw.com/magnify-method-details 👩‍🏫 Want to Quit One on One With Maggie?
