Jay Leno wrote the foreword to one of his books. Sterling Moss wrote another one. The guy is the real deal.But what got me was how he got there.He was supposed to be a doctor. Egyptian family, you already know how that goes. And when he told his parents he was switching majors, he literally calls that conversation "Armageddon." If you grew up immigrant, this part is gonna hit.What I love about Basem's story is he didn't have a master plan. He cold called Ferrari one day. He cold called Porsche. He cold called Aston Martin. And somehow within a week he had four exotic cars in his garage. He said his neighbors thought he was a drug dealer. I couldn't make this up if I tried.We got into a lot in this one. Marriage, fatherhood, what it actually feels like to live every guy's dream and miss your family because of it.
