At the time of our interview, Sam served as the Vice President of Advocacy and Government Affairs at The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ+ young people. After surviving conversion therapy themself, Sam has helped secure protections against the dangerous and discredited practice of conversation therapy in more than half of the country.
