Welcome back to Wednesday Night Boxes.
For the night of Wednesday, November 5th, 2025.
Episode 3. Kept it going so far.
Introduction
Playing Fast, But Not Loose!
NBA’s increased pace this season:
98.8 possessions per game to 100.1 this year so far. Hard to sustain. New season, fresh legs.
Free-Throw Attempts are way up this season:
21.6 per game last season to 26.0 per game so far. The officiating emphasis and the pace are two reasons. We'll see if this trend continues over time.
Offensive Rebounding has ticked up from last year:
11.1 to 11.5 per game.
This could be related to the free-throw increase.
