episode S2 E2 Brother Alex Errington artwork

S2 E2 Brother Alex Errington

Alex Errington was born in Sacramento California, and raised in Wright, Wyoming and Buena Vista (pronounced Byoo-nah Vhis-tah), Virginia. He is the middle child of 5 children. His mother was a homemaker and held many different jobs during Alex’s late teens and on. His father was a dragline operator for a surface coal mine in WY and maintenance worker at Southern Virginia University in Virginia. As a child and youth Alex enjoyed baseball, camping trips, scouting, Civil Air Patrol, Civil War Reenactment Group, and attending early morning seminary. After high school he spent a year in California earning money to serve a mission. He served in the Poland Warsaw Mission. He was shy and didn’t like talking to people but he learned to rely on the Lord and love the Polish people he served. He had many times when he felt the hand of the Lord guiding him in his service. He learned that if he wanted to be a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ he would need to be willing to serve wherever the Lord needed him. Following his mission, he was prompted to come directly to Kansas, where his oldest brother was living. Alex lived with him and his family while he got a job and began attending college. He received his Associates degree from Butler Community College in pre-engineering, and was working toward his bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering, when he decided to change his career path and get his airframe and power plant mechanics licenses and become an aircraft mechanic. He currently works for Ballard Aviation in Newton Kansas. One of the exciting things he gets to do there is travel the world, inspecting or working on potential aircraft that his company purchases. He has traveled all over the US, also Canada, Portugal, Malta, Ivory Coast, and the Philippines. While serving on the institute council, soon after his mission, he met his wife Michelle. They were sealed in the Oklahoma City Temple in 2009. They have 4 loving children, 1 daughter and 3 boys. They enjoy going camping together and going for walks together. His hobbies include camping, shooting, reading war history books, and family vacations to visit family. In his church service, Alex currently serves as the stake executive secretary. His past callings include ward young men’s president and scout master, elders quorum president, counselor in the bishopric, assistant ward mission leader, counselor in young men’s presidency, counselor in elders quorum presidency, and institute council member.

episode S2 E1 Brother Park Worthington artwork

S2 E1 Brother Park Worthington

Park Worthington was born and raised in Idaho. He served a mission in the Franco-Belgian Mission from 1965 to 1968 without any language training beforehand. Since marrying Susan in 1974, the two have lived in all four time zones in the lower 48: Orem, Utah; San Diego, California; Lexington, Kentucky; and finally Wichita, Kansas, where they settled in 1984. (They spent almost two years in Dodge City before moving to Wichita in 1986.) Over the years, they raised two children—Courtney and Chip—and Park earned three degrees: a BA from BYU, a technical degree from the University of Chicago Hospitals & Clinics, and a Master’s degree from WSU. They also had the privilege of serving in the Kansas Wichita Mission office for two years, first with President and Sister Bell for just under a month, and then with President and Sister McQuistion for the remainder of that time. For more than a decade, they’ve enjoyed working in the Oklahoma City Temple and also served in the Kansas City Temple while Oklahoma City was being refurbished. For the past six-plus years, they’ve served as shift coordinators in the OKC Temple. In recent years, Park has had the joy of getting to know six of his eight half-siblings who live in Idaho and Washington. Most importantly, Park and Susan are just regular folks.

episode S1 E23 Brother Hyrum Atkinson artwork

S1 E23 Brother Hyrum Atkinson

Hyrum Atkinson was born in Udall, Kansas, and spent much of his youth moving frequently, rarely living in one place for more than a year or two. He is one of seven children and grew up in the middle of a busy, lively home with a devoted single mother who raised six of the siblings; one of his older sisters lived with their father. Hyrum has two older sisters, an older brother, two younger sisters, and a younger brother. From a young age, he developed a fascination with creating and building, nurturing a desire to become a maker capable of bringing ideas to life through hands-on creativity. Although a full-time mission didn’t feel right for him at age eighteen, the decision not to go left Hyrum feeling somewhat isolated, and he eventually stopped attending church. Several years later, seeking direction and new challenges, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. Stationed primarily at Camp Pendleton in California, he also deployed to Bahrain. Before joining the Marine Corps, he had worked in a variety of blue-collar positions, driven by a personal goal to understand every step of building a home. These experiences shaped both his work ethic and his appreciation for practical skill and craftsmanship. After his military service, Hyrum began regularly attending church again, an important milestone in his personal spiritual path. During this period of transition, he spent some time working as an asphalt inspector, piddling around in the field while considering his next steps. Ultimately, he decided to pursue further education and enrolled at Wichita State University, where he is now studying mechanical engineering. His love of creating continues to grow, and he has become deeply involved in 3D printing both as a hobby and as a developing skill he hopes to integrate into a future business venture. Hyrum currently serves as the second counselor in the Wichita YSA bishopric and as a temple ordinance worker. He previously served on the stake high council.
