episode Episode #4840 Households Level of the Heptagraph cover

Description

Father Koys takes us on another “brain wrinkling” walk as he tackles the topic of households. Households is one of the seven layers in Father Koys art piece “Heptagraph”.  Fr. Koys wrinkles your brain to contemplate this level of association as he references historical references to clarify the fascinating connections.  He dives into historical references on Shakespeare, the House of Plantagenet; it’s two branches, House of York and House of Lancaster, as well as the House of Tudor and the war of the Roses.  While experiencing technical difficulties today, Father Koys was a real trooper and trudge along to make his point in order to wrinkle your brain.  Happy Wednesday! Episode #4871 Fr. Koys Tackles Feminism in Christianity (Reair051326)

Father Koys takes us on another “brain wrinkling” walk as he tackles feminism in Christianity.  He welcomes author Carrie Gress to discuss her book on the topic titled “Something Wicked: Why Feminism Can’t Be fused with Christianity”.  Together they tackle the topic and highlight some of the points made in the book. They touch on the seven elements of feminism and the creation of a shadow church as feminism seems to act as a religion of its own. Father Koys and St James at Sag Bridge will host a talk by Carrie Gress on July 18, 2026.  For more information, please visit their website at historicstjames.org.   St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish [https://ststanschurch.org/]  https://historicstjames.org/

Episode #4870 Inner Groaning

Father Anthony with Cristina and Tony regroup today after the weekend to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish.  Father greets everyone and chats a bit about his past week and the feeling of being just being overly tired and hot, mentioning that he felt some frustration with not finding the rest he was looking for during his recent private retreat.  After prayer, he discusses the Saint of the Day, St. Kateri Tekakwitha, the first Native American to be canonized.  He shares details of her life and how she dedicated her life to Jesus being committed to living a pure and prayerful life, reminding us that we should all be receptive to the inner workings of God’s spirit, mindful that this will lead us to the inner peace we yearn.  Father connects this to the past Sunday’s reading that clearly references suffering and groaning.  The trio discusses suffering and acknowledges that all suffer and no one escapes it and all groan about their sufferings.  Father points out that inner peace and joy may still exists while we suffer and groan but to recall that Jesus never promised us happiness and that we should choose internal joy over fleeting happiness.        St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish [https://ststanschurch.org/]

Episode #4867 How do you Grow in Faith? (Reair043026)

Father Anthony with Tony and Cristina gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. Father greets everyone and poses the question: How do you grow in faith? This leads the trio into discussion over their thoughts on how to grow in faith and the need for silence. This leads to them “just reminiscing”.  After a break, Father leads us in prayer, then switches gears and mentions the polarization being experienced in the church; he touches on the seminarians who lean into the traditional church versus the progress movement within. This leads the group to discuss the role of women in the church and in families and the establishment of male priest only in the Catholic Church. They touch on how God established this and His church, His intent and the need to honor it rather than adhere to social pressures.   St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish [https://ststanschurch.org/]
