TGIF! Father Anthony with Tony, and Cristina gather to discuss the goings on, and people in the Parish. Today Father opens the show sharing sadness over the priest who took his life, which leads the group to chat about priestly life and the many demands and challenges, especially with the changing times where there are much less priests available. Father shares about his challenges day to day and transitions to how every person has challenges, there is no escaping and we need to figure out how to face it. We need to remove focus on self and help others; it is in helping others that we offer healing to them and heal ourselves in the process. In praying and serving others we find healing! Fr. Anthony leads with much needed prayer and mentions how we need to focus on starting with prayer. The group chats briefly about the many tragedies and known needs for prayer, the challenge being how do you decide where to place your prayer focus with so many needs. Tony arrives and Father turns his attention to the meeting from yesterday “Synod with Father Anthony”. The group focused on sharing the experience of that synod and summarizing the evenings events. Welcome to a Brain Wrinkling Wednesday with Fr. Tom Koys. Today Father Koys reads a meditation by Fr. Ronald Knox: “A Retreat for Lay People”. The meditation focuses on facing death-facing fears about death. Is it ok for people of faith to fear death? He also shares a clip from Guy Gruder, Viet Nam Veteran at the Catholics for Catholics event in Florida about his experiences as a prisoner. St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish [https://ststanschurch.org/]

Fr. Anthony, Tony, and Cristina talk about the goings on, and people in the Parish. Father Anthony focuses on the tragedy that is currently taking place in Texas. The group is struck with sadness over this unfortunate tragedy. This leads the group to recall other tragedies and how humanity faces the darkness during these times, cherishing the courage and the compassion that is summoned by those living through these situations and certainly recognizing the Holy Spirit, the Faith and the Lord at the center of it all. Father offers prayers for all impacted by this horrible tragedy that the darkness may be conquered by the light. St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish [https://ststanschurch.org/]

Lauretta hosts the program and has her guest Father Tom McCarthy join her to chat about Our New Pope, Pope Leo the XIV. Father McCarthy is a personal friend of Pope Leo. Lauretta guides their chat to highlight things everyday people may want to know about the Pope. Father McCarthy emphasizes that Pope Leo is a great guy and sees that many want to know if he is one of us….Father McCarthy says, He is! He encourages us to “watch what he does” so we can get to know him better. Lauretta promotes the Chicago Celebration of Pope Leo that will take place on June 14th at Guaranteed Rate Field (better known as Comiskey Park). She also reminds us about Worldwide/Nationwide Pentecost Vigil on Saturday June 7th at St. Luke Church in River Forest, Illinois. St. Stanislaus Kostka Parish [https://ststanschurch.org/]
