National Weather Service meteorologist Tom Green joins Lisa Price to discuss a dangerous heat wave gripping central North Carolina, with temperatures expected to reach the upper 90s to low 100s and heat index values climbing to 102 to 106 degrees through Friday. Green advises outdoor event goers, including fans attending Carolina Hurricanes viewing parties, to stay hydrated, seek shade, wear sunscreen, and limit sun exposure during peak UV hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A slight cooldown to the mid to upper 80s is expected by Tuesday.
