Description

In this latest episode of the WTL (What The Law) podcast, Guy Grant joins us and takes us through his career adventure starting in the North East of Scotland, travelling more than 11,000 miles away to New Zealand before settling back in Edinburgh. Guy's legal career has been just as varied, from working part time in bars and restaurants and a ski season whilst studying through to completing an in-house traineeship at Standard Life. Following qualification, Guy switched lanes and re-trained as a specialist property lawyer working for a number of firms in Edinburgh before making the jump to work for 2.5 years in New Zealand with one of the 'Big Three' firms. Upon his return to Scotland, Guy transitioned once again to focus more on the renewable energy sector and ultimately has come full circle and moved back in-house, this time with Eurowind Energy a Danish headquartered renewable energy company with a global presence.

The Power of Variety - Claudia Roberts

The traditional linear career path arguably no longer exists. Claudia Roberts is currently a trainee solicitor with Mills & Reeves. In this conversation, Claudia takes us through her career journey to date from graduating from a law undergraduate degree to starting her career outside of the law focusing on the education sector, before jumping into entrepreneurship and starting her own business, to coming back into legal sector completing her LPC whilst working as a buyer from Prima Fruit and in 2023 starting her traineeship with Mills & Reeves a decade after completing her undergraduate degree. Throughout, Claudia provides her own experience and insight on how these different experiences continue to influence and help her as a lawyer.
