Capable enough. Good enough. And sometimes we place that same burden on others. We expect people to earn our respect. Earn our acceptance. Earn our love. But the witness of scripture points us in a different direction. Paul reminds us that while we were still weak, while we were still far from who we were created to be, God’s love is already being poured out for us. (Romans 5:6-8) Not after we prove ourselves. Not after we get everything right. Not after we become worthy. But now. Love is not a reward for achievement. It is a gift. And the invitation is for us to freely give what we have freely received. We don’t need to prove ourselves worthy of love. And we can stop demanding others do so as well. I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you. #60SecondsofHope #DailyReflection #Encouragement #SpiritualEncouragement #SpiritualGrowth #Discipleship #DailyDevotion #DailyInspiration #faith #hope #FaithandLife #HopeForToday Support the show [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2295449/support]

When The Right Things Still Go Wrong

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2295449/fan_mail/new] When the Right Things Still Go Wrong Sometimes we do the right things, and get the wrong results. “So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared as well.” — from Matthew 13:26 Weeds? They hadn’t planted any weeds. Only grain. Yet there they were. Still, they didn’t abandon the field. They didn’t plow it under either. They continued to tend the field, trusting that everything would be sorted at the harvest.

When We Take Time For Deeper Conversations

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2295449/fan_mail/new] When We Make Time for Deeper Conversations When we allow our conversations to go beyond the surface… We grow. Jesus and his disciples “left the crowds and went into the house.” — from Matthew 13:36 They paused their travel. They paused their active service. They made time to reflect, to ask questions, and to gain a deeper understanding. And that prepared them to serve others even better. Deeper conversations deepen our understanding, helping us better love, connect with, and serve the people around us.
