The Focus: Honest Questions, Deeper Faith Scripture: John 20:24–29 This week in our “Risen Indeed” journey, we stand with Thomas, who longs for certainty in the midst of doubt. He wants proof that Jesus is alive, and the risen Christ meets him right where he is. Jesus invites Thomas to touch His wounds, offering gentle assurance instead of rebuke. In that encounter, doubt becomes faith, and questions lead to a powerful confession: “My Lord and my God!” We all face moments of uncertainty—times when faith doesn’t come easily. Jesus welcomes our honest questions and meets us in the struggle, never turning us away. He turns our doubts into deeper trust, inviting us to experience His real, living presence. Let us pray: Risen Lord, thank You for meeting me in my doubts and questions, just as You sought out Thomas without condemnation. When I struggle to believe, show me Your kindness and patience. Walk through every wall in my life—fear, confusion, or disappointment—so I can see You and experience Your love firsthand. Strengthen my faith and help me trust You, even when I cannot see. Use my honest questions to draw me closer, turning uncertainty into deeper faith, and unlimited worship. Thank You for never shaming Thomas or me for doubting, but inviting us to encounter You, restoring us in faith, hope, and love. Amen.

Day 4—Stepping Into God’s Preferred Future For Us

Hello friend, welcome to another day on our Jabez journey! When we look at the story of Jabez in Scripture, we see a man whose very name reminded him of pain and hardship. But Jabez didn’t let his past or any negative label define his destiny. He took his needs, his dreams, and his hopes straight to God, boldly asking for blessing, provision, and purpose. And you know what? God honored that prayer! It reminds us that our identity isn’t set by our circumstances, but by the loving God who hears and answers when we call. No matter where you started or where you are today, God is inviting you into His heart, His hand, and His ways—for a positive, preferred, providential future. Let’s pray together: Heavenly Father, Thank you for seeing beyond our past and pain. Like Jabez, we come to you believing in your power to bless and make a way. Propel us into our calling, destiny, and purpose. We ask for your prosperity and protection. Where we feel limited or weighed down, bring healing and restoration. Increase our faith for greater influence, and give us a Christ-like capacity to love and serve others. Keep your hand upon us and guard us from harm. Make us people who walk in your Spirit, overflowing with kindness and grace—reflecting your goodness everywhere we go. We trust you to redeem our stories and lead us into a future filled with hope, purpose, and abundant blessings as you make us the head and not the tail, the top and not the bottom, blessed in our coming and blessed in our going, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Redeemed Identity—Day 3 of the Jabez Journey

Welcome to Day 3 of our Jabez journey. Today, we reflect on the name “Jabez”—a name his mother gave him because she bore him in pain. In ancient cultures, a name wasn’t just a label; it was a declaration of destiny and identity. Every time someone called Jabez, they were calling him “Pain” or “Sorrow.” Imagine living each day with a name that speaks hardship over you! Yet, despite this legacy of difficulty, Jabez became a man of honor, known for his prayer and for God’s answer. His story reminds us that our identity is not defined by past failure or shame, but by the God who redeems. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, Thank you that you see beyond the names, labels, or pain that our past may have given us. Like Jabez, many of us walk through life carrying memories, wounds, or words that speak of hardship or disappointment. Father, we come to you seeking redemption and restoration. We ask for your healing in places of our hearts marked by sorrow or struggle. We pray for those still suffering—physically, emotionally, mentally, or relationally—especially where resources or support are lacking, that you will bring a turnaround in their lives as you did for Jabez. Bless us, O Lord, and enlarge our borders—expand our hope, our influence, and healing in our lives. Let your hand be with us; keep us from evil and harm. May our lives speak not of pain, but of your amazing grace and redemption. Amen.

Beyond Labels: Distinction in the Ordinary, Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of our Jabez journey! Yesterday, we remembered that God sees every honest, humble heart—even when the world overlooks us. Today, we’re invited to step forward in faith, trusting that God’s blessing is for each of us, not just the “special” few. Scripture says Jabez was “more honorable than his brothers.” In his culture, this meant more than simply being better than his immediate family; it meant he stood out among his entire community. Despite carrying a name that meant “pain,” and whatever hardship or insecurity he may have faced, Jabez put his hope in God. He became a person of distinction and honor—not because of his circumstances, but because he talked to God and trusted Him with his story. Let’s pray: Heavenly Father, Thank you for seeing us and calling us to live honorable lives. Like Jabez, help us move beyond our past, our labels, and our limitations. Shape us into people of true distinction—grounded in faith, hope, and love. We ask humbly and boldly, as Jabez did, that you would bless us indeed. Pour out your favor, provision, and fresh opportunities over our lives, our families, and our work. Expand our hearts to trust you more, and help us receive your goodness with gratitude and humility. Guide our steps as we walk with you today. We dedicate this month to you, believing your favor and guidance make all the difference. Bless us, expand our territory, increase our influence, let your hand be with us, and keep us from harm. Make us more honorable people, radiating your goodness to others. Amen.

Join Me—Day 1 of the Jabez Prayer Challenge

Welcome to Day 1 of our Annual Jabez Prayer Challenge. If you’re like me, it’s easy to wonder sometimes if your life really matters in the grand scheme of things. The first fifteen chapters of 1 Chronicles always remind me of that feeling—line after line of names, generations flowing one into the next. Most of these people lived quiet, faithful, ordinary lives, rarely stepping into the spotlight. But then, right in chapter four, the story pauses for just one name—Jabez. I love this moment in scripture. Out of hundreds of people, God highlights the prayer of one person whose life started in pain. That gives me hope. It reminds me that God notices the honest cry of every heart, no matter how small or hidden we may feel. So, as we begin this journey together, let’s come to God honestly, just as we are. Heavenly Father, As we start Day 1 of our Jabez challenge, we remember how you called Jabez out of a long list of names, honoring his prayer and granting his request. In a world where many feel unseen or ordinary, you see us and invite us to come humbly sharing with you, our requests, our fears, our losses, and our thanks. Like Jabez, we cry out: O Lord, bless us indeed! Enlarge our territory, and expand our influence, and let your hand be with us. Protect us from harm and loss. Thank you, Jesus, for being with us in our journey. We dedicate this month to you, our Good Shepherd. Amen.

Praying God’s Blessing Upon Our Work: Prayer of Jabez, "Expansion"

Heavenly Father, Thank you for this brand-new day and the wonderful gift of work. As we step into June and begin our annual Prayer of Jabez challenge, I lift up every partner, worker, business owner, and prayer warrior in the marketplace today. “Oh, that You would bless me indeed…” Lord, pour out Your abundant blessing over our work, our businesses, and our influence. Let Your favor, wisdom, and provision go before us. May everything we put our hands to bring You glory. “…and enlarge my territory…” Father, expand our opportunities and our reach. Open new doors, connect us with the right people, and give us boldness to step confidently into every new assignment You have prepared for us. “…that Your hand would be with me…” Holy Spirit, let Your hand rest mightily upon us. Guide our thoughts, words, and actions. Grant us knowledge and understanding in every decision, and empower us to serve with excellence and supernatural favor. “…and keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain.” Protect us, Lord, from temptation, discouragement, and division. Guard our hearts and workplaces, and let everything we do bring hope, peace, and healing. Today, we dedicate this workday to You. We commit this week and consecrate this month—the Prayer of Jabez month—trusting You for greater things. We ask that Your goodness and mercy follow us all of our days. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
