Descripción

In Ephesians 2:1–10, Paul shows us why grace is truly amazing: we were not merely confused, wounded, or mistaken—we were dead in sin. But God, rich in mercy, made us alive in Christ, saving us not by our works, but by His grace, and remaking us as His workmanship for a life of grateful obedience. Scripture: Ephesians 2.1-10 (Additional Reading: Luke 9.60; Colossians 3.7; Exodus 34.6-7; Romans 3.27; 1 Corinthians 1.29) Warm-Up: Would you ever describe yourself as a “wretch”?  “You’re equipped, you realize, for farce (or even tragedy) more than you are for happy endings.” - Francis Spufford -

How the Church Wins

In Ephesians 4:1–16, Paul turns from the cosmic truths of the gospel to the ordinary life of the church, showing that Christ’s victory becomes visible through a unified and maturing body. The church does not win by worldly power, talent, or impressiveness, but by walking worthy of the gospel: guarding unity, using Christ’s gifts, speaking the truth in love, and growing together into Him. Scripture: Ephesians 4.1-16 (Additional Reading: John 17.20-26; Romans 12.1-3; Psalm 68.15-18; Matthew 16.18-20) Warm-Up: What’s one thing that makes it hard for Christians to stay unified, even when they believe the same gospel? “The man who loves his dream of community will destroy community, but the man who loves those around him will create community.” - Dietrich Bonhoeffer -
