CREATIVITÄT
Podcast de Remy Fabrikant
This is the podcast about creativity. Conversations with entrepreneurs, artists and personalities who are changing the world around them with creativity. Why is creativity so important? Creativity is the ability to transcend traditional ways of thinking and acting and to develop new and original ideas, methods or things. We need inventiveness to keep reinventing ourselves and the world around us. Without creativity, we keep going down the same paths. To be creative means to be free. Instead of being oriented to the mainstream, creativity enables us to question supposed ideals and offers space for the unfinished or imperfect. The extraordinary relevance attributed to creativity as an individual and social phenomenon in our present day can be seen in the programmatic study The Rise of the Creative Class by American sociologist Richard Florida in 2000. According to Florida, the central transformation that has taken place in Western societies between the postwar period and the present is not so much a technological as a cultural one. The watershed can be marked in the 1970s, and it concerns the emergence and spread of a "creative ethos." At its center is a new, rapidly expanding and culturally tone-setting professional group, the creative class, with its characteristic activities of producing ideas and symbols - from advertising to software development, from design to consulting.
