Check out the best foods for lower abdominal pain or cramping and learn more about what causes it. 0:00 Introduction: What to do for lower abdominal pain 0:13 Typical treatment for lower abdominal pain 1:10 Lower abdominal pain causes 5:15 The best foods for lower abdominal pain relief 7:45 The best vegetable for digestive problems 8:52 Learn more about how to support digestion! Today we're going to talk about the best and worst foods for lower abdominal pain. There are many different causes of lower abdominal cramping or pain. But, in my opinion, we can usually trace the problem back to the person's diet and malabsorption. If a person has a problem with malabsorption, they may also experience bloating, diarrhea, or loose stool. The more inflammation or gut problems you have, the more sensitive you're going to be to certain things like gluten, lactose, fruit, grains, legumes, beans, nuts, and seeds. A good thing to consume would be a stew with homemade bone broth. The collagen in the stew is great for inflammation in the gut. Adding vegetables to the stew is also fantastic because they will cook down to the point where they shouldn't bother your digestive system. High-quality saturated animal fats are important to help support the gut. This means the meat you add to your stew should have skin on it and should be fatty. Lactose-free whole-milk kefir or lactose-free goat milk kefir is also great to help support healthy digestion. To support the colon, you may want to consume probiotic foods. Ghee and fermented vegetables may also be beneficial. The best vegetable for digestive issues is cabbage. This may be because it contains sulforaphane or certain phytonutrients. Even people who have digestive problems like gastritis or irritable bowel syndrome may find it easier to consume cabbage. What is benfotiamine, and do we really need it? Learn more. For more details on this topic, check out the full article on the website: ➡️ https://drbrg.co/3XVdi3V DATA: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3546345/ 0:00 Introduction: Benfotiamine explained 0:10 What is benfotiamine? 0:40 What does benfotiamine do? 2:30 Benfotiamine for diabetes 9:54 Learn more about the best diet for diabetes! Let’s talk about benfotiamine. Benfotiamine is a fat-soluble form of vitamin B1. Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is normally water-soluble, but a fat-soluble version has several advantages. Fat-soluble vitamin B1 can penetrate membranes made out of fat much easier. This is one reason why benfotiamine is so good for neurological issues. Benfotiamine helps inhibit the formation of AGEs (advanced glycation end products). AGEs can lead to a myriad of issues, but benfotiamine is a potent antioxidant-type nutrient that inhibits the formation of glycation. Benfotiamine also supports the myelin sheath and is needed for several enzymes in the mitochondria. If your cells don’t have B1, all kinds of issues can occur. Many of the complications of diabetes occur because of a lack of vitamin B1. Benfotiamine is especially important for people with diabetes. It targets inflammation and oxidative stress and supplies the B1 you need for your enzymes and mitochondria, all while inhibiting the formation of glycation. It also helps increase the number of mitochondria you have, which increases ATP (the fuel for your tissues). However, it’s also important to get on the right diet plan. Check out my other videos to learn more about the best diet for diabetes and other health concerns. Today I want to cover some interesting points about selenium that you may have never heard before. Selenium is a trace mineral, and it’s involved in thyroid function and helps detox mercury. Selenium is also a powerful antioxidant. It’s important to support cardiovascular and brain health and may help prevent strokes and cancer. Brazil nuts are loaded with selenium. One Brazil nut will give you the selenium you need for the day. Taking too much selenium could lead to selenium toxicity. Selenium is in many other foods, too, so why are so many people deficient in selenium? It has to do with the fact that it’s in a form that plant roots have a difficult time extracting—they need help from microbes. However, there aren’t enough microbes or diversity of microbes in the soil. A good solution is to start buying foods from farmers who care about their soil and grow things with microbial diversity. It’s also essential to consume fermented foods. Another overlooked cause of selenium deficiency is a certain genetic mutation related to the proteins or enzymes with selenium. Taking statins may also lead to selenium deficiency. Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 57, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting. Today we’re going to talk about how to protect your kidneys. The kidneys can take a beating and can even regenerate. They are composed of roughly one million tiny filters, which filter your blood. But as you age, you start losing these filters—so it becomes even more important to start eating better and decrease exposure to toxins. The two worst things for your kidneys are sugar and oxalates. It’s crucial to stop consuming sugar and high-carb foods and to start limiting your exposure to high-oxalate foods. However, consuming cheese or dairy with foods that are high in oxalates, but are otherwise healthy, can help counter kidney damage from oxalates. Foods high in oxalates: • Almonds • Spinach • Beet tops • Peanuts • Grains • Beans • Sweet potatoes • Cassava • Tapioca • Kiwi • Chocolate • Swiss chard • Turmeric • Cinnamon • Clove The best ways to protect your kidneys: 1. Consume lemon water every morning 2. Consume apple cider vinegar mixed in water 3. Consume 2.5 liters of water a day 4. Avoid high-oxalate foods or add dairy to high-oxalate foods 5. Get on the Healthy Keto® diet and do intermittent fasting 6. Avoid fructose 7. Avoid consuming high levels of vitamin C 8. Consume potassium (not for end-stage kidney disease) 9. Consume plant foods and microgreens Dr. Eric Berg DC Bio: Dr. Berg, age 58, is a chiropractor who specializes in Healthy Ketosis & Intermittent Fasting.
