Fortress of Faith - Daily

Yesterday we started looking at how Christians are supposed to treat strangers (foreigners) in their land. Our focus was on the Old Testament and today I want to focus on the New Testament.

We often deal with protecting our nation against the ideology of Islam. I have often told you that we must separate the issue of Muslims, the people, the ones following the religion, from the Islamic issue. They really are two different issues. Muslims, in themselves, are people, souls, that have been misguided, taught a lie, and they do what they do because of Islam. The problems we have with them is because of their attachment to Islam. Our real problem as a nation is with Islam. Islam is a dangerous ideology, it is against just about everything we in our country hold dear, freedom; faith in Christ, etc. are all a threat to Islam, and threatened by Islam.

The question most often asked by Muslims concerning the deity of Christ is, Show me in the Bible where Jesus said I am God. They may present it this way, Jesus never said that He is God. This is a false statement. Jesus may not have used those very words, but He certainly communicated to the Jews that He was God at least five times. He communicated it so clearly that those who heard Him thought it was blasphemy for a man to make himself equal with God and wanted to stone Him. If Jesus were but a man, it would be blasphemy for Him to have made that claim. But, because He was God in the flesh, God who became man, not man who became God, it was not.

The subject for the last few days has been about the deity of Christ. Muslims believe that Jesus was just a man, and that He was not the Son of God. One of the biggest problems for Muslims is, how could Jesus be God and have died on the cross. The question is, How can God Die? This is a good question, and we must be able to answer it.

Today we are continuing with the series on defending our faith. Islam makes outrageous claims about or faith and our Bible. Islam teaches that Jesus is not God, that He was just a man, and that Christianity has made a God out of Him. The Islamic scholars have learned that, unlike in Muslim countries, in the West you can’t just make claims, you must support your arguments with facts. As a result, they are taking Scripture out of context, twisting it, and trying to deceive Christians to believe that the Bible teaches something other that what it really teaches.
